President unifies Christians and veterans at Celebrate Freedom 2017

Recommended Posts

The Celebrate Freedom Rally at the John F Kennedy Center for Performing Arts was an inspiring Fourth of July celebration. I have not seen or heard the American spirit presented with such enthusiasm in many years. President Trump reaffirmed our Christian heritage, our hope in Washington administration, and our national security.

Prayer will return to our schools and sporting events and we will say "Merry Christmas" again.
Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. They only last for an instant but it is a Holy Instant. Let your soul absorb them.

Why did you stop saying it?

It must be a while since you've been in the States. For the last eight years, anyone caught saying Merry Christmas was immediately arrested by Obama's Sharia Police and sent to a re-education camp. There, they learned that there is only one true God, Allah, and Mohammed was his prophet. (Peace be upon his name)

Now that Trump's in charge, devout Christian and highly decorated veteran that he is, we're getting back to loving Jesus and hating commies (except Russian commies, those guys are cool) the way Washington and Jefferson wanted us to.

Ohh yes...of course, I think I heard something about that...

I have to say I was quite entertained by the Trump supporters who were very offended with NPR yesterday. WHy were they offended you ask? Well, NPR tweeted the Declaration of Independence...

Some of the comments are priceless.

The Sunday NY Times this week (just overall an excellent issue) had a multi-page foldout with the text of the Constitution, along with commentary about parts of it from Republican and Democratic congresscritters, and also from a couple of the NY Times' legal reporters (who, btw, are also lawyers, and legal scholars in their other lives).

They all make it clear that their viewpoints are just that, viewpoints, and not the be-all and end-all of opinion. I'm not done yet, but that's only because I want to think about the sections. And anyway, I NEVER finish the Times on Sunday...

There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. (tbrown)
