wolfriverjoe 1,523 #26 July 28, 2017 kallendDonald Trump, like many a businessman-turned-politician before him, argued that if he was elected, he would bring his managerial acumen to Washington, making government run like a business with efficiency and skill. What we’ve seen instead is the most chaotic and incompetent White House in living memory. And it’s only getting worse. The very simple problem with that is that Trump is not a 'successful businessman'. He's a "Trust Fund Baby" who thinks he can 'wheel and deal', when all he can really do is con people. He's a pretty good con man. His "Trump University" scam is a good example. The problem is that while he seems to have conned about 1/3 of the country (35% to be exact), the rest of us see right through it."There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." billvon 2,991 #32 July 28, 2017 >Well, someone had to take the blame for the failed vote last night. Let's see how the blame game is going. Senate republicans blame: Trump: "One of the failures was the president never laid out a plan or his core principles and never sold them to the American people. Outsourced the whole issue to Congress." McConnell: "If they're going to quit, well then by golly, maybe they ought to start at the top with Mitch McConnell leaving his position and letting somebody new, somebody bold, somebody conservative take the reins. How is he going to get the job done on the rest of President Trump's agenda?" (But I thought it was the lack of the agenda that was the problem ??) Women: "Some of the people that are opposed to this [bill] — there are some female senators from the northeast." Democrats, of course. "I imagine many of our colleagues on the other side are celebrating, probably pretty happy about this. . . But the American people are hurting and they need relief." (So let's cancel their insurance and increase average rates!) House Republicans blame: The Senate, of course. "The House delivered a bill . . . [we are] disappointed and frustrated." Senate Republicans. "Most of us don’t expect Republicans in to do anything, especially in the Senate. We do not expect them to function, they are so full of themselves."
