billvon 2,995 #51 September 3, 2017 >So North Korea probably has a working thermonuclear bomb. Unlikely. They probably have figured out fission boosting for their conventional implosion bombs, which would significantly increase their yield - but isn't really thermonuclear (the fusion in a fission-boosted bomb adds less than 1% to the yield) Not that that matters too much; what matters is that they've significantly increased yield with a relatively small weapon. >Let's say they get everything they want out of thir development programme - a small >enough warhead to fir on a reliable missile with a large yield. Then what? Then he gets more respect. Several countries (the US specifically) have a tendency to respect countries that have credible nuclear arsenals. Phil1111 1,149 #52 September 5, 2017 Russian President Vladimir Putin has said pursuing further sanctions against North Korea is "useless", saying "they'd rather eat grass than give up their nuclear programme". http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-41158281 Well Putin is right about that and if there is a large factor in the N. Korea nuclear weapons program. Its that sanctions have not worked.

gowlerk 2,198 #55 September 20, 2017 The whole Korean debacle is the fault of weak kneed Democrat party presidents not standing up like men. Mostly Truman. Who accepted the division of the peninsula in the first place. And then failed to nuke China and Russia when they supported the North's invasion of the South. By the time Eisenhower took over it was too late. Russia had the bomb too. On a side note, the NKs are tough as hell. The USAF dropped enough bombs on them to destroy about 85% of their existing buildings. The death toll was enormous. And they have not forgotten. Not even a little.Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.

gowlerk 2,198 #63 September 21, 2017 Here is a story quoting the NK foreign minister stating that he feels sorry for Trump's aides after his recent UN speech. The world is standing on it's head. He is making more sense than the POTUS. Beyond sad. http://www.cnn.com/2017/09/21/politics/north-korea-donald-trump-united-nations/index.html Although I do disagree with the "barking dog" comparison. wolfriverjoe 1,523 #71 September 26, 2017 Well, the "Twit in Chief" made a statement that the DPRK "won't be around much longer" and so their FM called it a Declaration of War. So, of course, his minions have to walk it back some. Is this idiot ever going to learn to keep his mouth shut and his ego in check? I kinda doubt it.
