Born and raised in Kansas City, KS, he was a graduate of Sumner Academy, and the University of Kansas with a degree in engineering. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Dale and Lois Kendrick and Cecil and Maxine Moore. Russell is survived by his wife, Ginger and their first child expected later this summer. His parents Gerald and Marjorie Elliott of Lenexa, Kansas; sister, Diane Elliott of Lenexa, KS and her children Lauren and Dakota; Ginger’s family Larry and Carollyn Barnett of Humboldt, KS; Cathy Barnett of Kansas City, MO; Russ and Tobi Barnett and their children Sydney and Nicolas of Overland Park, KS. Also left behind to mourn Russell’s passing are numerous family members, friends and his extended family in the skydiving community. Russell had many passions in life, the biggest being his friends and family as well as his sense of adventure. Although we are deeply saddened that our time with him was too short, we are grateful for the time we had. It was full of laughter, joy and love and for that we are forever grateful.
