mccollumalan 0 #1 October 27, 2017 I have a question for the group. I'm a retired parachute rigger from the Army and an FAA Master rigger. I'm finding myself getting more and more into the civilian side of parachute rigging with mostly reserve repacks, the occasional installation of an AAD and some basic patches and minor harness/container repairs here and there. Do any of you maintain a list for services and how much you charge? Just wanted to make sure I'm in line with the current industry standard prices. You can reply here or email me at mccollumalan@gmail.com Thank you.
PhreeZone 20 #2 October 27, 2017 Take a look at ChutingStar's prices: http://www.chutingstar.com/media/forms/CSRLServiceOrderForm.pdf They are a highly respected loft that helps set a lot of the prices. I charge more than this for a repack ($75) since I will do a reserve inspection, and basic main inspection as well as all new closing loops and minor other things at the same time. I also will not pack a main anymore at the time of a repack. Reserve Inspection & Repack $60 Main Canopy Inspection $25 Canopy Patch $40 Reserve Canopy Assembly $25 New Steering Lines $60 Wash Container $75 Main Canopy Assembly $25 Slider Bumpers $10 Used Gear Inspection Varies AAD Installation $10 30 -lb Canopy Strength Test $10 Main Canopy Repack $10 New BOC Pouch $60 Reserve Slink, each $ 8 Main Slink, each $ 7 Open and Close $20Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
Unstable 9 #3 October 27, 2017 I'll Bite. My prices are copied and pasted. Recently raised them to help pay off my Brother KE430 Bartacker. Honestly, there are a lot of little services ($10-$20 jobs ) I don't charge for. If I'm at the DZ and someone needs help hooking up a canopy or if someone asks me to check their main on a repack. I figure little things like this make it that much easier for people to make me their regular rigger. ---------------- Reserve Inspection & Repack $65, Free if I sell the reserve or container Main Canopy Inspection $25 Canopy Patch By the Hour - generally comes to $40 for a small and simple patch, recently charged $220 for a 4' long patch on a blown canopy, usually about $60 for a patch that requires opening up a seam. Reserve Canopy Assembly $20, Free if I sell them the container or reserve New Steering Lines $15 for lowers, $60 for the entire set Wash Container $20 Main Canopy Assembly Do not charge for this AAD Installation Do not charge for this 30 -lb Canopy Strength Test Do not Charge for this Main Canopy Repack $10, included if they give it to me as part of the reserve repack. I return the rig in the same condition it was given to me. New BOC Pouch $60, $110 for drogue pouch on tandems Reline - Sport Rig (Customer Provides Lineset) $75 Reline - Tandem Rig (Customer Provides Lineset) $105=========Shaun ==========
