dorkitup 1 #1 December 19, 2017 OMG. Honestly, its been over 8 years since I've ordered a new PC for a skydiving main. Normally, there's not a lot of reason to get a new one. As a rigger, I normally just replace old kill lines. So why did the price jump exponentially? A PC costs $200 now? Really? You feel good about that manufacturers? Hahahahahahahahahahahaha! Enjoy fuckin people over. I guess a sucker will pay no matter what... Where did my favorite option (with no work) Jim Cazer go? He made such an amazing PC at such a reasonable cost. Time to sew my own I guess. Have fun out there!! And enjoy getting fucked over. Happens to the best of yuppies. Hahahahahaha!

BKS60 0 #4 December 19, 2017 Last one I bought was from Simon Wade, less than half that and had it in hand in about three days."You don't get many warnings in this sport before you get damaged"
LeeroyJenkins 3 #5 December 20, 2017 Squirrel sky snatch, you will never go back. Also the pattern is open source so they will send you the pattern to make your own.

Bluhdow 31 #7 December 22, 2017 Pretty sure the poster is looking for a PC that is not $200. I think there are arguments to be made for more complex PC designs in BASE, but in skydiving I just don't see it. The standard design has worked so well, and for so long, that I feel like the SkySnatch is a solution in search of a problem. In the words of an engineer friend of mine: "I could tie a f*ckin' plastic grocery bag to the end of my bridle and never know the difference." Hell, Jimmy showed us that you don't even need a PC at all! https://jointheteem.com/friday-freakout-skydiving/friday-freakout-jimmy-pouchert-base-jumper-survives-no-pilot-chute/Apex BASE #1816
LeeroyJenkins 3 #8 December 23, 2017 I can tell the difference between my snatch and my old PC. You can also see the difference on video. Inflates and stable much faster. Like I said OP can make their own. The design is open source.
Bluhdow 31 #9 December 23, 2017 Can you elaborate on how you can feel the difference? Can you feel it inflating more stable behind you? What does that feel like? Can you feel it inflating faster? What does that feel like? I’m not being sarcastic. I’m genuinely curious how you can feel the differences between two different pilot chutes behind your back. I’ve had probably 20 different PCs behind me over the years of various builds and at different airspeeds and once it’s pulling on my bridle I can’t tell the difference.Apex BASE #1816
LeeroyJenkins 3 #10 December 23, 2017 The amount of time between releasing the PC and feeling the bag leaving my back is quicker. As I said before when you compare the on footage it is more stable and inflates faster.
