dan7the1man1 0 #1 October 20, 2017 I have been a fan of the Sony X3000, but annoyed with the mounting options. I came up with a flat lock that isn't much bigger than the camera. There will be 2 options for the base, which is the piece that gets attached to the helmet. Flat or curved. I attached pictures of the mount on a Cookie G3, but also a picture of the flat mount. This will be attached via 3M VHB tape. The piece that attaches to the camera via the bolt, has a cutout so you can access your card. There is also a piece for the anti rotation hole in the bottom of the camera. I am getting ready to get these made, just trying to see interest and get some feedback from people. Let me know what you think.
PalleNygren 0 #2 October 21, 2017 Looks nice! Could not tell by the pictures if it may revolve around the camera screw or if it has another fix point as well (like the thing SOny shipped with the camera)?
dan7the1man1 0 #3 October 22, 2017 The camera is attached using the 1/4-20 screw that the camera has.
kilranian 0 #4 November 6, 2017 How much are you thinking for cost? I'm interested. Edit: Would this also fit the Sony HDR-AS300?
piisfish 140 #5 November 7, 2017 Is there space for a Velcro strap to secure the camera?scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM
dan7the1man1 0 #6 November 9, 2017 They will be listed for $55. Still working on pricing if you buy multiple. I have not put my hands on the HDR-AS300, but the mounting on the bottom looks identical so I would say yes.
dan7the1man1 0 #7 November 9, 2017 I have not added this feature, but it would be easy to cut out some of the adhesive tape on the bottom, and put a strap through prior to attaching the mount to your helmet. If I can find some I will include the strap and leave it to the user as an option.
