This past Friday evening on The PBS NewsHour, David Brooks said that Trump was a sociopath who lacks any empathy.  David Brooks has been 'almost forever' a committed Republican.

Could it be that there is hope on the horizon?

The Trumpettes are still solidly behind him. He tells them what they want to hear (who to hate, who to target, who's fault it is, all the standard demagogue crap). 

 

As long as the Trumpettes hold a significant part of the primary vote, the Rs in the House & Senate won't go after him. They can't. State level Rs too.

I think plain old denial is a much easier pill to swallow for Trump supporters.  I mean, so far women have made 3 rape allegations, 11 sexual assault allegations and 13 allegations of inappropriate sexual behavior with underage women.  And he's admitted, on video, to assaulting women.  But Trump supporters aren't even rationalizing them - they are just plain denying them.
