jakee 1,500 #205 August 29, 2018 DJL Who would have thought that extorting money from a US President would be fraught with such risks? Well, technically it would be extorting money from a presidential candidate. But he didn't see it as extortion, he said it was totally above board on both sides. So what is there for anyone to be upset about? Do you want to have an ideagasm?

As the tapes show, Trump and Cohen didn't even blink at paying it. So, extorting a presidential candidate for a quick cash grab really was quite easy, successful and risk free. It was only when she changed her mind and decided she could get much more from publicity and media appearances than the she got from the NDA that shit hit the fan. So, really it's 'un-extorting' a President and attempting to tell a true story about them that's dangerous.Do you want to have an ideagasm?

I wish her the best but I think she was foolish to think this would be a quick money grab and splash of free publicity. Well, it came out after the election, but the actual approach, agreement & payoff came about while he was still a candidate (hence the 'campaign finance violation' charges). I'm gonna guess that, just like most of us, she didn't think he was actually going to win. She may well have underestimated how vicious and ruthless he is. The claimed death threats by Trump goons (or maybe Cohen goons, which amounts to the same thing) are a good example of that. And I think that she felt (correctly, IMO) that going public with it wouldn't have mattered a bit. The Trumpettes would have celebrated the fact that he banged a porn star, rather than condemn him for cheating on his wife. So milking it for some cash was likely her best option, or at least seemed that way at the time."There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." DJL 235 #212 August 29, 2018 SkyDekkerI think violence towards detractors is a logical next step in the evolution of the Trump presidency. She doesn't deserve threats of physical violence but she certainly shouldn't be surprised. As for being a detractor...meh... She had a consensual relationship and tried to profiteer off of then candidate Trump. When he became President she saw dollar signs and maneuvered her way out of the agreement. I very much enjoy what the investigation has revealed but I wouldn't say her status as a detractor is all that noble. Again, that doesn't justify violence towards her, just an evaluation of her as a "detractor"."I encourage all awesome dangerous behavior." - Jeffro Fincher
billvon 3,008 #213 August 29, 2018 Wait - he's trying to protect Trump from witches? I thought a "witch hunt" meant a hunt for something that wasn't real. But they are real? This makes a lot more sense. Perhaps the witches who put Trump at risk are people like his simple sons who keep making boneheaded decisions (like going to a Russian agent for dirt on Clinton.) In that case, "WITCH HUNT!" might refer to the effort to find, stop and prosecute such witches so they don't drag down Trump's presidency. So far it looks like Mueller has taken down 25 witches. Go Mueller!

Now she sees a chance to get some national attention and she's taking that, too - and it seems to be helping her career. She is neither noble nor evil. >It's a bit disturbing when an extortionist porn star has more credibility and support (in certain >circles) than a sitting President. Well, it's not that she's all that great - it's that Trump has so little credibility to begin with.

How is this any different from the general behaviour of the man the US elected President? Quote say her status as a detractor is all that noble. Who is saying detractors have to be noble?
