Phil1111 1,149 #1 October 21, 2017 O’Reilly Settled $32 Million Sexual Harassment Claim Month Before Signing Fox News Contract According to a new report by the New York Times, a month prior to O’Reilly signing a new contract extension with Fox News that would pay him $25 million annually for four years, he reached a $32 million agreement with a network analyst to settle sexual harassment allegations. And it appears the network was aware of that deal when O’Reilly signed his contract. Per this latest piece, Fox News apparently tried to contain this story and stand by O’Reilly despite this coming to a head just months after Roger Ailes was pushed out as chief of the network over his long history of sexual harassment and misconduct. https://www.mediaite.com/online/oreilly-settled-32-million-sexual-harassment-claim-month-before-signing-fox-news-contract/
tkhayes 348 #2 October 21, 2017 And if Fox pays him $100M over 4 years, but makes $350M over 4 years for the ads playing during his show, then $32M settlement is just part of the business. I doubt they made that much but it becomes evident at some point that at least part of the decision about removing him was financial and had nothign to do with right and wrong..... quade 4 #3 October 21, 2017 Well, one thing this ought to do is get the ultra-right wingnuts to shut up about Hollywood and Weinstein. Oh, who am I kidding?quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
DougH 270 #4 October 22, 2017 Why should either shut up about it. There is a huge septic tank in both camps, of people in power abusing women and behaving poorly. Just because the other sides septic tank smells shitty doesn't make yours a cistern filled with mountain spring water."The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

True about Clinton, not about Obama, but you're certainly right about the right vr left. .....er ..... for some MEN, regardless of whether they are political or not. A skirt is to be chased and regardless of the repulsion on the part of the victim. Taken advantage of. Corporations like FOX, show a lack of understanding that media has a overall moral duty in its corporate life.
wmw999 2,452 #6 October 22, 2017 There's a huge septic tank, that both houses (and the middle) donate to. One side pontificates a little more on how evil one aspect is, the other pontificates on other aspects, but it's kind of like saying that conservative shit stinks less than liberal of independent shit. Just as Christian shit doesn't smell much different from Hindu, Muslim, or atheist shit. Love from each doesn't feel that different, either. It's the judgment and power that suck. jakee 1,498 #7 October 22, 2017 DougHWhy should either shut up about it. No-one should shut up about the fact that Weinstein is a scumbag. What they should shut up about is the idea, espoused by several on here, that Harvey Weinstein could only have gotten away with it because of a Democratic party conspiracy to protect him, and that Weinstein is not making enough headlines or drawing enough comment because the liberal media and liberal posters love him and want to protect him. Every criticism the conservatives here have come up with about the left's response to Weinstein (including the made up ones) can be charged back wth interest about the right's response to O'Reilly.Do you want to have an ideagasm?
