oldwomanc6 52 #4 September 14, 2018 jcd11235What flag? It's snow now (assuming because it's dark) but the sound is still intact. I wonder if the flag (or pole) will be there in the morning? Anybody know if this is still manned (since it is now a B&B)? I hope not, because it can't possibly worth anybody's life.lisa WSCR 594 FB 1023 CBDB
gowlerk 2,190 #5 September 14, 2018 Yes, it's manned. I heard him interviewed on NPR. It's an old lighthouse and has been there for many storms. He is not expecting any problem riding it out. That's what it was built to do.

BillyVance 34 #7 September 14, 2018 gowlerkYes, it's manned. I heard him interviewed on NPR. It's an old lighthouse and has been there for many storms. He is not expecting any problem riding it out. That's what it was built to do. Apparently, from what I've gathered online, Neal, the owner of the tower, stayed home in Charlotte, NC, so the tower is unmanned during the hurricane. The camera equipment did go out at some point during the storm, so all you're seeing now are "highlights", ergo, old video footage."Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people." - SIX TIME National Champion coach Nick Saban
