riggerrob 643 #2 December 29, 2018 Ah! The summer of 1969! The first time we ever saw hippies in our conservative, Southern Quebec town. They were at the bus station in Sherbrooke, transferring to buses headed for lower New York State and the Woodstock Festival. At age twelve, I was too young to join them. Besides, my conservative father would never have given me permission.
ryoder 1,590 #3 December 29, 2018 I used to work with a guy from upstate NY. He was ~18yo when Woodstock happened. He missed it because his boss at the gas station wouldn't give him the time off. He lived with the regret that he hadn't just quit the job and gone anyway. "There are only three things of value: younger women, faster airplanes, and bigger crocodiles" - Arthur Jones.
