SCOTUS rejects Trump's asylum restrictions

Recommended Posts

Well. I find it truly amazing that so many people say "Those immigrants should follow the law and come into the country legally", yet applaud the Mango Mussolini's attempts to change the law to stop the few legal avenues they have.

In related news:

Two immigrant children have died while in US custody.

"But we did everything we could" was the first response from the US government. Now we are learning about how at least one was quickly checked out, given some medication and released about eight hours before he died.

"It's a fluke - we are really doing a _great_ job given that only two kids died" (yes, Peter King actually said that since "these are the only two children that have died . . . ICE has an excellent record.")

"No one could have seen this coming." And yesterday there was a report from Arizona Central that showed evidence that there were health problems for at least four months prior to this - children vomiting on their clothes and not being cleaned up, children not even being given soap to wash with.

And now, of course, Trump has blamed the (wait for it) democrats for causing the deaths. Yep, that's right. It's the fault of the democrats that kids in cages are dying. I predict he will find a way to blame Clinton and/or Obama before the end of next week.

The responsibility for the children rests on their parents. It is sad that they believed the lies from the Dems and marched their families toward outrageous uncertainty.

Really?

"Decades after the U.S. stopped institutionalizing kids because large and crowded orphanages were causing lasting trauma, it is happening again.

The federal government has placed most of the 14,300 migrant toddlers, children and teens in its care in detention centers and residential facilities packed with hundreds, or thousands, of children.

As the year draws to a close, some 5,400 detained migrant children in the U.S. are sleeping in shelters with more than 1,000 other children. Some 9,800 are in facilities with 100-plus total kids, according to confidential government data obtained and cross-checked by The Associated Press.

Some of the children are being cared for in Pennsylvania.

That's a huge shift from just three months after President Donald Trump took office, when the same federal program had 2,720 migrant youth in its care; most were in shelters with a few dozen kids or in foster programs. Some of the children may be released sooner than anticipated, because this week the administration ended a portion of its strict screening policies that had slowed the placement of migrant kids with relatives in the U.S."

SOUTHCOM chief: Central America drug war a dire threat to U.S. national security
Author(s): General John F. Kelly

"After observing the transnational organized crime network for 19 months as commander of U.S. Southern Command,...

the key to their future and to our national security. Drug cartels and associated street gang activity in Honduras, El Salvador and Guatemala, ...

have left near-broken societies in their wake...

Profits earned via the illicit drug trade have corrupted and destroyed public institutions in these countries, and facilitated a culture of impunity — regardless of crime — that delegitimizes the state and erodes its sovereignty, not to mention what it does to human rights. All this corruption and violence is directly or indirectly due to the insatiable U.S. demand for drugs, particularly cocaine, heroin and now methamphetamines,"

Sorry dude, when the US Government forcibly takes the kids away from the parents, it assumes responsibility.

Not that I'm surprised you would try to blame the parents.

>The responsibility for the children rests on their parents.

So if a government took your son away because he was Christian, and something bad happened to him while he was in their custody - it would be your fault?

If I dragged him 1500 miles to put him in that position, yes it would. If it happened here, I would first be dead before they took him.

You do have an exceptional hypothetical imagination.

>If I dragged him 1500 miles to put him in that position, yes it would.

You would not take your child thousands of miles to save his life? I suspect you would.

>If it happened here, I would first be dead before they took him.

So all those refugees who were separated from their children should have murdered the border patrol agents who attempted to separate them, or died trying?

Jebus teaches hate and division, Ron proves it with a regularity not found in many people his age.

That's not really true.

The teachings of Jesus are primarily love and tolerance, kindness and giving.

I know a lot of Christians (of all varieties) who try their best to practice those teachings in everything they do.

I know some people who aren't Christians (or any other religion for that matter) who practice these things too.

There are just a LOT of people who claim to be Christian, but substitute hatred & bigotry for love and tolerance, fear & violence for kindness and giving.

These are the ones who quote Leviticus and Deuteronomy but totally ignore the Sermon on the Mount.
