rmarshall234 14 #1 January 10, 2019 Any Old Dogs here that attended the fly-ins at the Vern Dallman ranch in Northern California in the 90s? Old Yolo or Pope jumpers? One of my rigging customers mentioned this to me, and it sounds like one of those "you had to be there" type of experiences. If you were there, I'd love to hear the stories. With all the aerobatic flying going on, there must have been some skydiving too.?

kevinbmcnamara 0 #3 May 14, 2020 I was never at the fabled ranch....but I did meet Vern and I was extremely fortunate to be asked to be part of his performance at the 1989 Sussex, New Jersey airshow. The unbelievably-quick ride to altitude (two grand), and the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to jump the only existing Curtis-Wright Speedwing ranks up there near the top of the list of my favorite jumps, and his signature for that jump is one of my most treasured logbook entries. I was deeply saddened to learn of his passing ten years later. Blue Skies Edna Mae Fenstermacher!
