SkyHopperZH 0 #1 Posted March 4, 2019 Hey guys. I sometimes see things like that and think this could jam the three ring system. When i tell people they don't seem to take it seriously. In a shitty case i could see the material preventing the medium ring from going through the big ring and jamming it there. Am i paranoid? ;) (Nothing is misrouted, the material is just behind the ring instead of the side) Blue skies.
gowlerk 2,198 #2 March 4, 2019 I agree with you. And I frequently point it out to people. I have not actually heard of it causing a hang up, but I'm sure it could.
Quagmirian 40 #3 March 4, 2019 The other issue is the RSL release not being accessible when you want it (water landings etc).

It's not very accessible in the picture. But with the risers stretched out from the canopy being in flying configuration it would be the same as normal. And the same thing would make it hard to actually cause a hang up. But just a little more material through that large ring and it could be trouble. gb1 3 #5 March 5, 2019 Mostly newer jumpers can be very stupid. They think that just because it is an "approved" rig and reserve is in date, nothing can be screwed up. They say "it's all good". As long as they look cool and are patted on the back by others is their focus. Remember, It doesn't take much to work and it doesn't take much to not work. Good Catch!
