what winds for 1st time when downsizing?

Recommended Posts

Talk to your instructors, they can guide you better because they are familar with your progress.

Having 9 jumps you probably already know the answer to this question.

When flying a smaller canopy will it be flying faster or slower then the canopy your downsizing from?

Now take that equasition and add the same question for what you already know about winds. Will a 10 mile perhour wind offer a slower of faster ground speed (when facing into the wind) then a 0 MPH?

I ain't your instructor and I've never seen you land, but . . .

If you wouldn't be comfortable landing the downsized canopy in -ANY- normal condition, including a slight downwind and off-field, then maybe you should rethink your decision to downsize.

Yep good advice there, same that I got from my instructors. I downsized during the winter when the air density was high and there was typically a slight breeze. But, thats a California valley winter. :)
