pcrguy2000 0 #1 Posted June 14, 2019 I pop my AFF cherry tomorrow at Skydive Atlanta. I wear glasses, so I am wondering if I should go buy a strap or something to keep them in place, or will the goggles and helmet take care of that for me? Thanks. husslr187 24 #2 June 14, 2019 (edited) There are goggles that will go around your glasses. The dropzone will likely have a few to loan edit: I haven’t heard of any issues with them as long as the goggles are tight Edited June 14, 2019 by husslr187
riggerrob 643 #3 June 15, 2019 Buy a sports strap for your glasses. Yes! the school might supply goggles that fit over eye glasses, but few students adjust them tight enough. Too often over the glasses goggles blow loose in freefall. In the long run you will want to equip yourself with prescription sports goggles: rracquetball, basketball, scuba, gas mask glasses, Wiley X, or any of the dozens of models marketed to motorcyclists, bicyclists, etc. Even industrial safety glasses provide better eye protection than "street" glasses. wolfriverjoe 1,523 #4 June 15, 2019 I wear glasses. I use the big 'over glasses' goggles, and wear a 'croakie' strap on the glasses too. I've had goggles blow upwards a couple times (usually when the elastic was getting worn out). I've pondered getting scrip wrap around glasses (Gatorz or similar), but haven't bothered yet. I've done a fair amount of Hop & Pops with just glasses (with a strap). Works ok, but I have fairly big glasses.
