Hi DJL,

I disagree.  IMO they will see it as a great opportunity to right a lot of things that Trump has f'ed up.

And, it will be a 'get down to business' trip.

Obama did the same thing and it was called the Obama Apology Tour.  I think it's kind of a school yard thing and I'm not saying that we shouldn't correct Trump's actions.  We shouldn't be afraid to right wrongs just because the right wingers will say something dumb about it.

Please post a link.

John, I was joking.

I knew you were joking - his insults typically aren't that direct.

But you have to understand that "arsehole" is only funny to people that speak bastardized English.  For Brits it's just another word.

As is, obviously, obviously.

If it was so obvious to you, then how was he supposed to see the humor and know that it was a joke?  And why did you tell him to stop being so serious?  To him you were simply making a false claim, and simply asked you to post a link.

Coreece, many Brits use the word obviously in the sort of way many Americans say literally, obviously.

Mulvaney also just reported that the G7 meeting would be held at Doral, but not because Trump would profit from it or that the Trump/Doral brand needed polishing. He said it was simply because Doral was the single best location in the country for large conferences like the G7. He believed it so strongly that he repeated it several times, on the press podium, at the White House. There can be no suggestion that Doral was chosen for the G7 meeting to strengthen Trump's business brand or to advertise Doral, it's simply that Doral is "by far and away the best location" anywhere in the USA for large professional get-togethers. So now everyone knows that's the official government reason - Doral is the best.

Sounds legito.O

“Our Republic is Under Attack From The President” says a former Commander of the United States Special Operations Command.

Yeah, it's great and all, but it's too late.  There's a guy at my work who loves to talk about how great Trump is, and I asked him if he was cool with the Ukraine/China thing, and he says "oh yeah, whatever it takes to win! Trump is gonna win that second term and change the rules so he can go for a third or fourth too!"

He wasn't kidding.  Not. One. Bit.

We have a Shitler. We're losing the constitution. I'm stunned at where we are in the history of this country.

The republican party is killing our democracy. Celebrating that act as well.

Unless those who disagree can bother to get out and vote.

I see that as a totally separate issue.

They are breaking the law. Period. In your face, public admission, bragging about it even.

If he somehow <Russia again> gets reelected, we're beyond fucked.

They're quite busy purging voter rolls.  I got purged and had to re-register, and I just voted in the 2018 blue wave.  They are perfecting minority rule and insulating it for a generation.

The Senate is no closer to convicting Trump today than yesterday. Trump didn't hesitate to thumb his nose at the constitution, again, and announce Doral would host the G7. Mulvaney admitted to a quid pro quo on television. TV pundits need to take time to explain why the latest testimony harms Trump. The electoral map still favors Trump. As of this writing we are still fucked.

He's not even trying to hide it anymore.  The next thing you know we'll see things like his family members getting Trump brand deals done or real-estate purchases complete with shady timing or on trips conducted at taxpayer expense.

So Mulvaney now assures us he didn't say what he said:

I can't help but think there is a bit of slight of hand going on here.

The reason the aid to the Ukraine was held back was to "encourage" the Ukrainians to investigate the Biden family.

It was never about investigating DNC server tampering in 2016. This is an attempt to make people think that Mulvaney accidentally released to truth only to recant hours later when in fact it is just another lie to protect Trump

Exactly. On balance of probability, is the Trump White House running a sophisticated double bluff, or are Trump and Giuliani simply so stupid as to believe both conspiracy theories and pressure the Ukrainians to go along with them.

Yep, I'm going with door number two there.

The Friday night dump:

State Department finally released its report on Hillary Clinton's emails.

After million$$$ of dollars and years of investigations, it concluded that there was no mishandling of information, that people tried to follow the rules, and that none of the information that did get mishandled was classified at the time.

Although, some of it has been retroactively classified by the Trump administration.
