Millions of dollar invested in a racing team and a driver could be pissed away with one twisted ankle. Instructor could fuck up, student could fuck up.

I think that they are well within their rights to ban skydiving for their team members.

I read somewhere back in the day when Mick Doohan was reining MotoGP champion that it was written into his contract that he wasn't allowed to ride a bike on public roads as it was too dangerous. Always thought that was funny.

It has nothing to do with the fear of skydiving. Ferrari was worried that the other F-1 teams would pay off the tandem instructors to do harm for Ferrari cheating last year.
