Coworker of my younger brother diagnosed with it, and my brother has early symptoms UK. Assuming it’s correct then the spread is ahead of the numbers being reported. They work in the healthcare system (IT geeks), so relatively high exposure potential

That is always going to be the case.

Just consider how far behind the US is in testing, compared to other 'high-risk' countries such as South Korea.

Once the US starts testing larger volumes of suspected cases, it just follows that larger numbers will test positive.

It doesn't really matter.

The level of infection will eventually get us all.  We just need to slow down the infection rate to allow the healthcare system to do it's thing.

Evidently, Italy's universal healthcare system couldn't walk the walk.

I find it hard to believe it would stay in the air for 3 hours, but certainly on the surfaces.

The issue is that no one wants to admit that a doctor that gets paid per patient will be more likely see more patients and streamline their practice to do so.  It's one of those human nature things.

Without incentives it is hard to expect more.
