Shelter in place? That's for the little people.

In Ohio it looks like Super Bowl Sunday, with the addition of all the normal retail establishments being closed.  It's erie and a stark reminder of the times.

Rox spoke to her daughter last night in Mountain View.  She says very few are paying attention to the shelter in place order with the exception of the schools being closed.

Thanks California.

Here in Richmond, VA it was a bright sunny day yesterday and all the summertime kid hangouts are swarming with kids.  I'm talking packed cafeteria kind of density.  The only thing this is doing is keeping teachers away from these kids.

It's okay in VA. They are the right kind of people. Not like those CA Hilary voters.

We're actually being pretty careful here in liberal-land. I haven't seen any congregations of more than about 3 people, and those often are homeless. Bike paths are full, but of people in motion, not standing still and talking to each other. We've changed the procedures at the food pantry where I volunteer to keep people away from each other, and the clients are driving through to pick up bags, rather than coming in and choosing what they want.

Nope, Va is a Democratic ruled state, Governor and both State Houses, both US Senators.  We voted Hillary over Trump in the election.

Foolish parents raise foolish children. They may be sorry when little Johnny goes to visit Grandma in a week.

And this IS an economically depressed area in which many grandparents live with their children and grandchildren.

Ya, but that's just because of the DC suburbs. The REAL VA is R all the way.

No matter.  Whatever happens to Grandma can be blamed on Obama, China and Clinton, in that order.

Chicago is eerily quiet.

We live 6 miles from Midway airport, a Southwest hub.  Hardly any planes going in or out.

I drove through Chicago Wednesday evening. Hit the IL/WI line about 4:45, took I-94 thorough downtown.

Virtually zero delays or backups. It took less time than it usually takes on a weekday late morning.

I was crossing into IN before 6:30.

It was really weird.

Miami is packed with college kids going there on spring break because 'we've been planning this for ages' and 'it's not that serious' according to a story on the BBC yesterday.

They should all be put in 2 weeks military quarantine before they're allowed to fly out again, IMO.

They would if the disease was more serious - like, melting skin/oozing lesion serious.

Instead of just dying unable to breathe serious?

Apparently.  I forget the comedian who said it, but if you really want to keep the youngsters at home, just say that it's an STD.

The problem with FL is the aging population.  I can't say that when I was in my 20's I might have felt the same as they do but all my money was being spent on jump tickets and boogies.

It's not the aging population crowding the tourist beaches for Spring Break.
