The extractor marks and striker marks could still give up the gig. But since you're GTG. We're safe with that. sfzombie13 324 #27 March 30, 2020 first off, when the cops are looking for suspects, they tend to stop at the obvious, and also to use the obvious to discount them. first thing they would do would be look at the casings and caliber, they would tend to discount the .40 cal due to caliber and never get to the point of looking at the firing pin or ejector markings. if you were overly concerned about that, that was the point of mentioning the jacket. a good killer would want to be as close as possible, especially with a 2" barrel. concealing it in the pocket is an excellent way to not arouse suspicion, and even to go so far as to allow a hit in the open on a busy sidewalk. the pocket conveniently carries away the casings, but some guns will jam if shot from a pocket. second, as far as having a torch conveniently around to melt the barrel, well, i suppose if one were to go to the trouble of procuring the extra barrel, magazine, and ammunition without leaving a trace, then the torch shouldn't be much trouble at all, seeing as how you don't even have to hide it.
