Guest #1 Posted April 12, 2020 (edited) I think Bill Maher is a Liberal icon (with capital L). I may not always agree with what he says (okay, it's more often than not - heh), he nonetheless speaks from the heart with a true commitment to Liberal ideals. Liberal as in Liberty - meaning true freedom from the PC Police. Maher has elephant balls when it comes to confronting the Social-Justice Warriors: he doesn't pull any punches and he doesn't back down. In this monologue he swears like a pagan at some moments, which in my opinion somewhat diminishes his arguments because use of foul language, imo, is largely the act of those who lack education and the ability to articulate their points, but he stll gets his across in a poignant way in this op-ed. He really sums it all up. Edited April 12, 2020 by Guest Revise title

I especially agree with the last sentiment - . . . Would hope that we had the good sense to stop doing it, but I wouldn't count on it. Too many out there that would do something just because they were told not to. Great Post Mark Edited April 13, 2020 by turtlespeed
SkyDekker 1,465 #3 April 14, 2020 What he doesn't explain is how calling it the Chinese Virus would accomplish all that. What we do know is that it causes racist Americans to take out their anger on anybody that looks Asian. So what does calling it the Chinese Virus do in a positive sense that would not happen calling it Covid-19 or SARS-nCoV or any variant of that?

Haven't you noticed that? It's a 'top ten' trait of despots. They NEED someone (or 'someones') to blame. It lets them tell themselves that they aren't at all at fault. The Chinese, the "deep state", liberals, Mexicans, Muslims, HRC, ect.

I even agree with Maher that there are problems in China that need to be addressed. What he doesn't explain is how calling it the Chinese Virus accomplishes that. he creates a strawmen by implying that those who are opposed to calling it the Chinese Virus argue that China carries no blame and then rants from there on. His premise is simply false.
