Trump gave voice to whatever audience he was speaking to at the time.  His actions, however, showed that all he really cares about are himself and the very wealthy.

Yeah, but see, what's been happening is those guys are changing.

That guy who took his daughter fishing?  Turns out his daughter is one of those "LGTBQABCDEVFG" types that you (and Trump) despise.  So he's voting for the party that doesn't mock and exclude them.

That guy with the hard hat?  He got a promotion and is now working with his company's construction office in Canada.  So suddenly he's a globalist - and he's voting for the party that supports his job.

That church the guy goes to?  Turns out the priest has been having his way with little boys, and he's not feeling so enthused about going to that church any more.  So he's starting to question the whole "moral majority" "religious right" thing.

That little league coach?  He just found out that one of his former outfielders was raped a few years after she left his team - and no one believes her; the politician who raped her is saying "there's no proof!"  "I've never seen her before in my life."  "If she'd really been raped, she would have gone to the cops the very next day."  And so these days he's thinking about voting for the party that supports the "me too" movement.

Life experiences have a way of changing you.  And while they do indeed sometimes turn people into deplorables, more and more often people are learning from them and deciding that things should change.

There are now more than 240,000 dead Americans who clearly symbolize the problem of having their mindset lead a country. Turns out running a country isn't as easy as putting memes together.

And that is why Biden won in a landslide, the Ds took control of the Senate and expanded their margin in the House of Representatives.

Interestingly, and it's completely understandable, a lot of folks were too embarrassed to admit they were voting for Trump even to a stranger on the phone.

I'd like to see statistics on what percentage of R and D voters actually voted.  I think that fear may have driven the R's to show up, more than ending crazy drove the D's to show up.

He did. More than 50% of the vote. More than 4 million votes more than Trump. More votes then any presidential candidate ever before.

Good point. Some in the GOP used Obama's color as they used Hillary to sow division and tribalism. I see tribalism in the broad brush some democrat supporters paint all trump voters as racists. Poland is in the same anti-populist battle as America is right now.

The GOP needs new leaders now. They need to put trump in his rightful place in American history, jail. John Kasich, Mitt Romney, etc. need to put the boots to trump's ass. Then take back the republican party.

The electoral college is the tradition steeped in racism. It is the college established to keep slave owners happy. The US overwhelmingly voted in favour of Biden, there really shouldn't be any discussion.

There were several reasons for the electoral college, the only one that is relevant today is the protection of smaller states.  If folks don’t like it, change it with a simple constitutional amendment, there really shouldn’t be any discussion.

Federalist paper #68 explains the reasons for the EC.  Protecting smaller states is not one of the reasons.
