And considering how nicely we feller's have F'd things up it's encouraging that he's putting women in charge of things.

piisfish 140 #5 December 1, 2020 I would have asked many of the Democrat candidates to be somewhat on the team.

Hi Nic, I am hopeful that he will use them as we proceed along. I would like to see Pete Buttigieg in as Sec of Defense. Jerry Baumchen
piisfish 140 #7 December 2, 2020 I believe that Pete is a major asset.

He has his uses but is yet to play on a statewide stage much less a national stage. Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders are tagged and proud "socialists" in the minds of 70 million voters. Unless we want Biden/Harris to be one and done they'll need to create a centrist political image. Like it or not they, and AOC and the squad for that matter, need to be quieted if we're serious about peeling voters in middle America away from the right. They're building a super diversified cabinet which should be a selling point in the next elections so I think they recognize it's about appearances and focusing on 2022 and 2024. I'm a Mayor Pete fan but I think, especially given what a clusterfuck Trump is making of the transition, Biden is better served by installing as much experience in his cabinet as possible. He really needs to include younger people as well -- it's their future, and who wants their future entirely decided by their grandparents. I'd rather have someone with War College experience, and other tactical experience. Maybe Trigirl? Wendy P.

Time for a kids eye view there. I don't think TriGirl should be given the option. I think she should be captured and forced to work for the greater glory of the state. Time and a half on weekends, of course.
TriGirl 318 #13 December 7, 2020 Okay, hold on everyone. Let's not get carried away! Guess I also need to clear up some records: I, unfortunately, never got the chance to go to War College (Command & Staff was as far as I went on that path). On the other hand, I did get a Masters in Security Studies (read: regional politics and history) at Naval Postgraduate School, enhanced by a couple tours in embassies. So if there are any openings working within a foreign policy office, I might be tempted! (I'll just sit here and hold my breath until the phone rings -- I'm sure that call will come ANY second now!) TriGirl 318 #14 December 7, 2020 Regarding Mayor Pete -- I think he would do very well as a sub-cabinet officer in Housing and Urban Development. Maybe even something in the Congressional liaison office. He needs some federal-level experience to supplement his intelligence on a lot of issues. He's incredibly smart and has a talent for presenting a well-developed argument. But even here, the first thing people note is, "he's only been a mayor" as a disqualifying factor for much higher office (or cabinet post). Okay, so, let's put him to work somewhere in between so we can get the benefit of his intellect, and beef up his resume at the same time.
wolfriverjoe 1,523 #15 December 7, 2020 Oh yeah? What about Nerdgirl? Her resume is pretty impressive. She's also the only person I know who tailored her behavior based on how she would field questions at her Senate confirmation hearing. She wouldn't do 'trespassing' BASE jumps for that reason.
