Nixon went to his grave without ever acknowledging he did anything wrong.

Hi Robert,

In the Nixon-Frost interviews, Nixon actually said that if the POTUS does it, it is not illegal.

Shucks, that has not seemed to work for the MAGA Mouth.

Hi John,

In 1974, I was a member of the GOP.  Today, I am no longer a member of the GOP.

Sadly, too many so called moderate republicans today believe they have inherited rights to credibility from 50 years ago. They do not.

Hi Joe,

The one & only 'moderate republican' that I know says he will resign from the GOP if they nominate Trump.

Other than him, where are they? *

Could be that identifying as a Republican meant something different then.

The republican party officially claimed that they are the 'party of Trump' after the early primaries.

That should be all that anyone needs to know.  They are NOT for America or about America, or the constitution, or law and order, they are ONLY about Trump.  Like 2020, they do not even have a platform or policy..... only Trump.  The Project 2025 so-called platform has nothing to do with policy, it only has to do with handing all power to the executive.

Fuck that Trump guy, he is now and will always be the one-term, twice impeached, felony convicted, former president.  Soon he will die, and I will celebrate with 18 year old scotch and a neighborhood BBQ.  And after the conviction, fuck anyone that supports that POS for president.

Hi tk,

Some Oregon GOP thoughts:

[ Current ] US Rep. Lori Chavez-DeRemer [ GOP – Oregon ], however, didn’t want to talk about the conviction when asked to comment Thursday.

Republican Air Force veteran Monique DeSpain, who will face

[ Current US Rep - Dem – Oregon ] Val Hoyle in the fall election, did not respond to a request for comment.

[ Current ] Republican U.S. Rep. Cliff Bentz, who represents Eastern Oregon in Congress, also did not respond to a request for comment.

[ Current US Rep - Dem – Oregon ] Andrea Salinas will face businessman Mike Erickson [ GOP candidate ] . . . said he was shocked by the verdict and said he believes that politics played a role in the legal process.

U.S. Rep. Lori Chavez-DeRemer doesn’t want to talk about Donald Trump conviction (msn.com)

I guess if you keep your head in the sand, it will all go away.

Timeline of Trump conviction:

Republicans: If he's so bad, why not present the evidence?  Because you HAVE NONE, that's why!
(evidence is presented)
Republicans: So why not take it to a DA?  Because you know you have nothing.  That's how the system works.  Sorry loser libs.
(DA looks at evidence)
Republicans: That doesn't mean anything.  If it really meant something he'd be indicted and he's NOT!  Nothing sandwich!
(Trump is indicted)
Republicans: Innocent until proven guilty!  That's how the justice system works.  I guess libs don't care about justice.
(Trump is convicted)
Republicans: WEAPONIZING THE JUSTICE SYSTEM!

The Scotts have realized Trump can no longer enter Scotland. :D :D :D

If I understand correctly, the Scots only have that rule when there is some minimum amount of sentenced jail time (cannot remember, but it might be 3 years. Or, I could be totally wrong).  So, we will have to wait until sentencing.

Actually 38 countries including the US prohibit convicted felons from entering. But not Russia so its all good.

Sadly many countries have different rules for the rich and famous. I doubt many countries will deny him access

According to New York pre-sentencing rules they could lock him up for thirty days for a full psych evaluation. Given that he is more deluded than John Nash by any measure it seems a reasonable thing to do. One can hope.

2. Physical and mental examinations. Whenever information is available with respect to the defendant's physical and mental condition, the pre-sentence investigation must include the gathering of such information. In the case of a felony or a class A misdemeanor, or in any case where a person under the age of twenty-one is convicted of a crime, the court may order that the defendant undergo a thorough physical or mental examination in a designated facility and may further order that the defendant remain in such facility for such purpose for a period not exceeding thirty days.

What a joke this all is. It’s unbelievable that he is still a serious candidate. CEO’s and employees who have drama in their lives routinely step down or step aside to deal with their personal lives. Sometimes it isn’t even about being right or wrong, but simply the capacity to do your job.

It's so much worse than a joke, it's a national tragedy; a misfortune for America that will endure for decades or more. Our nation and the institutions we held up as examples to the world are broken.

Is he allowed to vote in Florida?

Technically, no.  If he is permitted to cast a ballot, however, every harassed Florida voter needs to post it all over social media alongside their stories.

I am corrected.  The Florida rule is that you are only prohibited from voting in Florida if the state in which you were convicted would restrict a felon from voting.  Reportedly, New York only prohibits a felon from voting while they are incarcerated.  Had he been found guilty in a Florida court, he would be restricted from voting, as that is the Florida standard.

Also, I have learned that Trump is technically still not convicted.  He has been found guilty but is not "convicted" until he is sentenced.

The stuff you learn when you listen to podcasts with lawyers. :)
