What's terrible is that she won her seat 2:1 over the next best candidate after a Trump endorsement. That means she likely has a permanent seat in the Georgia 14th district. So even if she's expelled she's likely to be right back in 2022. Given that it seems equally unlikely that she'll be censured we're likely looking at a future Senator, too. What a goat rope. A major news network interviewed republican voters in the streets of her district, Everyone stated that those were her "personal views" which would evidently be separate from her opinions in the senate. I assume, otherwise they've bought Q and trump completely. One non republican stated that she was "disgusting". It seems as if Ron ain't the only one in Georgia who's bought the whole hog. There was a Politico reporter who went to Wyoming to attend the anti- Liz Cheney rally put on by trump supporters. Nobody wore masks. Everyone was pro-trump and felt the vote for impeachment trial by Liz was wrong. In fact the reporter had to remove her mask to even get answers from rooms full of trump supporters. The divide that trump created seems set in stone for now.
Phil1111 1,149 #27 January 30, 2021 A trump endorsed and christian affiliated group has been charged with conspiracy in the January 6 attempted coup and bloody insurrection. "Federal prosecutors investigating the violent riot at the Capitol this month announced their first conspiracy charges against the Proud Boys on Friday night, accusing two members of the far-right nationalist group of working together to obstruct and interfere with law enforcement officers protecting Congress during the final certification of the presidential election." They offered no explanation as to why trump, his inner circle, nor christian groups were not charged as well. Including their funding arms like "Givegosend.com". I would like to see him charged and tried in court. The impeachment and Senate trial is purely political of course, with no criminal penalties. I’m another who thinks this way. Now we have to ask the question, what office is willing to file charges? If it’s DOJ, it will be regarded by his supporters as political retribution (not that this should be a reason not to do the right thing). Maybe a district court? DC perhaps, since the last “rally” happened there? Same court could bring similar charges against Giuliani, both Trump sons, and others who whipped up the frenzy that day. But the additional charges at least should be levied against the former POTUS, as his tweets and other public — OFFICIAL — statements have been cited by the rioters for bringing them to DC for that very purpose. What we can hope for is a drawn out and well presented case that proves Trumps guilt to any logical mind. Then, with luck, that truth can be hung around the necks of enough R senators who voted not guilty to cost them in their next election. The sad reality is that our Constitution and our system of government has been shown to be something less than a beacon of democracy to the rest of the world. Worse, we apparently also don't have the mechanisms to fix it. Wouldn't it be better to have a hearing of the actual facts before guilt or innocence is determined? Don't know if this article is from a reputable source but have read elsewhere that the FBI evidence is showing that the facts are much different than what was reported by the media. That is no different to what the media is reporting. And there's two things here - the fact that some members of the crowd had planned in advance to assault the Capitol does not mean they would have managed it if Trump had not incited the rest of the crowd to join in. Second, the reason that some people were planning to assault the Capitol in the first place is because Trump had just spent months telling them the election was stolen and the people in the Capitol were facilitating the theft. Now I don't see any real prospect of Trump being criminally tried and convicted over this, but it is crystal clear that it is his responsibility. He made it happen. What's the alternative explanation - the first time in 150 years that a candidate loudly and continuously claims the election was stolen by fraud is also the first time a violent crowd invades the Capitol during the counting of the votes but it's all just a big coincidence?

Yep. And, per the standard model, his source is a right wing hack blog helmed by Fox Alumni John F. Solomon: John F. Solomon is an American journalist who is a contributor to Fox News.[1][2][3][4] He was formerly an executive and editor-in-chief at The Washington Times.[5] While he won a number of awards (including the 2008 Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award) for his investigative journalism, he has in recent years been accused of magnifying small scandals, creating fake controversy[6][7][8] and advancing conspiracy theories.[1][3][9] During the Donald Trump presidency, he has advanced Trump-friendly stories and played an important role in advancing theories about alleged wrongdoing involving Joe Biden, his son Hunter Biden, and Ukraine; Solomon's stories about the Bidens influenced Trump to request that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky launch an investigation into the elder Biden, which led to an impeachment inquiry.[4]

They believe the Democrats stole an election because they know their own party would have done it in a heartbeat if they could, and they believe the mainstream media is part of a coordinated pro-democrat plot because they can see their own journalists acting as the propaganda arm of the Trump administration and the MAGA movement.
