At least, that is about as secure at it was during President Trump’s term as President. Man, get out the popcorn. Jerry Baumchen

Phil1111 1,149 #1328 August 10, 2023 U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan the presiding judge in the Jan 6th case has now 3 full time security guards. Just another sign as to how violent the trump base is. The trump conspiracy base is now down one more voter in Utah. The number charged in the Jan 6 insurrection has now passed 1100 trumpites. In other news trump says he won’t sign RNC loyalty pledge. Which just goes to show that there remains a deep state in the RNC. Why would trump sign a "loyalty pledge" when he owns the party now? Meanwhile trump continues to make steady progress among republicans." A CNN poll released Thursday found that 69 percent of Republicans and Republican-leaning voters still believe Biden's win wasn't legitimate - up from 63 percent earlier this year." So for democrats who think the recent Ohio vote shows progress. You're mistaken.

Yep, and it's not owing to fewer voters identifying as R or leaning R according to Gallup: https://news.gallup.com/poll/467897/party-preferences-evenly-split-2022-shift-gop.aspx They've actually gained on the D's while the number of voters identifying as Independent is falling. So get ready for living in an armed autocracy and a lot more Jesus. That’s crazy. I can kind of understand the ‘what have you done for me lately’ mindset, but going back to Trump and the other complicit Republicans is more like ‘what haven’t you stolen from me lately’! I also don’t get how bad the centre and left media is about generating outrage over real scandals when we keep seeing what the right can do with nothing but innuendo. Why isn’t Jared and Ivanka’s nepotism and corruption shouted about every day? Why isn’t the Supreme Court corruption scandal shouted about every day? Why aren’t the ongoing efforts of the GOP to give themselves a legal framework to actually overturn elections in the way that Trump attempted to shouted about every day? Its mind boggling.

billvon 2,998 #1337 August 14, 2023 So hey, what do you know. It looks like Team Trump was actually behind the breach in the Georgia election system! A team made up of Trump lawyers and hired operatives worked to break in to the voting systems in Coffee County, Georgia a few days before the Jan 6th insurrection. And we now know that Trump had a meeting with these people on December 18, 2020, shortly before they began their attempts to destroy the free vote in Georgia. Previously Trump had tried to claim that the crimes were perpetrated by his supporters who he had no contact with. But now we have eyewitnesses who place those criminals in a meeting with Trump shortly before their breach of the Georgia voting systems. It's Haldeman and Erlichmann all over again. By the time the Watergate trials were over, 41 people from Nixon's inner circle were convicted for their crimes. This has the potential to become an even larger event, given how many people have been implicated so far. https://www.businessinsider.com/georgia-prosecutors-trump-legal-texts-emails-coffee-county-voting-breach-2023-8?op=

billvon 2,998 #1339 August 14, 2023 So Trump has been warned by the judge to not to try to intimidate witnesses or taint the jury pool by making threats or issuing demands. If he does, she said she would consider holding the trial sooner so he did not have as much time to tamper with witnesses. Today he posted "I am reading reports that failed former Lt. Governor of Georgia, Jeff Duncan, will be testifying before the Fulton County Grand Jury. He shouldn’t!" We will see if he really is above the law. billvon 2,998 #1343 August 14, 2023 State GOP representative Matt Maddock is trying for his own personal Jan 6th. He warns that if the Justice Department prosecutes the people who tried to defraud the 2020 election, that "someone's going to get so pissed off, they're going to shoot someone. That's what's going to happen. Or we're going have a civil war or some sort of revolution. That's where this is, where this is going." This is likely due to the fact that his wife, Meshawn Maddock, is one of the many Trump supporters facing felony charges for her role in the scheme. This is going to be the longest, saddest, most avoidable "I told you so" in modern history.
