Good. Nobody give a shit Canadian.

The kids who are getting shot probably give a shit.

You just don't give a shit about kids getting shot.

Your values of fighting for the oppressed seem to only matter when it benefits you. You have no values, you are a weak man.

I’d fight for those kids. Can’t do that if I’m disarmed, though. My kids also have guns and know how to use them. Funny how that works.

Then again…trying to make a person who grew up in a country with limited freedom understand what freedom really is, is kind of pointless.

You know….come to think of it….you and all these other people here who aren’t from the US…why do you even care enough to argue so hard against our freedoms? Why does what we do even concern you in your socialistic utopias?

The only freedom you have that I do not have is around what firearms you can purchase, how easily you can acquire them and where you can take them. Oh and you can say how much you want to kill those black people, or jews, etc.

That's the freedom you are fighting so hard for? Being able to call a black guy a nigger. That's your big freedom. You get to call him that while holding a gun in your hand.

That's how you fight the oppressed....again, you are a weak man.

I have not said anything you just did, nor do I think it. But I really like the freedom to tell a piss like you to fuck off.

Meh I have that same freedom here.

Funny thing is, you are saying it on Canadian servers, which are subject to Canadian jurisdiction.

Best part is, you aren't smart enough to understand the irony.

Again….does not affect my life in the slightest.

I love the whole America is the only free country delusion. Over the years in SC there have been so many instances of ill informed people claiming that Europe and elsewhere don’t have ‘freedom’

Yet the US has a lousy healthcare system, women are rapidly joining the ranks of other oppressed women in theocracies, but yay freedom because we can elect a felon and illegal immigrant.

Yeah…ok…

To avoid delays in treatment, many Canadians travel south to the United States for more advanced treatment. Critics of the Canadian system must deal with the fact that most Canadians support their version of Medicare. The single most important defense of medical care delivery in Canada is that it works relatively well.”

As a lifelong Canadian with many relatives working in and accessing the healthcare system I can tell you that there are no Canadians who want to trade our system for yours. I am equally certain that most Americans would take that trade if they could. But they cannot. It is true that we also have 1 percenters who do access the luxury care available in the US. Just as you have medical tourists who travel overseas for affordable treatments.

Just closing it out (hopefully). I actually think I first joined in the 2004 timeframe. I quit the nonsense for a very long time. Deleted my account (if I remember correctly). Rejoined. Still didn’t participate much at all. Now…I am ecstatic that it’s going to die. It could have been a cool thing to be a part of except for the preponderance of obnoxious leftists. I tried for a very long time, in the beginning, to carry on polite sincere respectful conversations. That turned out to not be possible.

I’m sure it’s descent for standard stuff. But why are Canadians coming here when they really need help and don’t have the time to wait for however long it takes in your socialistic system?

Cool, so some Canadians apparently travel to the US. Well most of us in the west are pretty happy with our medical systems and not going bankrupt to pay medical bills.

I’ve yet to meet a non American who admires the US healthcare system. In general it’s held up as a bad example of how to do things.

I have a Canadian friend who decries the delays (she has a couple of chronic conditions), but who would never trade them for the cost and uncertainty in the US. She and her American husband left the US for Canada as he began to get ill after retiring, and never regretted it. Yes, it’s anecdotal, but so is the brother’s cousin’s friend who died of a brain bleed after gagging the COVID vaccine.

It’s like anything — you can have fast, cheap, or good. Maybe two out of three, but not all three. Period.

A lot of advancements in surgeries, especially orthopedics, happen first in Europe. We get them several years later.

I think a good balance is free public healthcare that provides a minimum safety net and then private medical that provides a higher tier of healthcare for those that can afford it. I realise that is a tricky balance to implement with lots of grey areas.

An example is when I shattered my risk snowboarding in Switzerland. The Swiss told me I needed surgery to restore full function but it wasn’t covered by my travel insurance. Back home in the UK the national health service just put me in a cast to heal. Relatively cheap and I never fully recovered the full motion in my wrist. If I had private health I would probably have got a higher standard of care and potentially a better long term outcome.

Probably not so black and white if choosing between an expensive cancer treatment that might extend your life and not having it available if you’re on public health.
