Well heck, you've got the serial number. The factory should be able to tell you who the original purchaser was. If it wasn't stolen from him, then track it forward from there.

Cool... How much did you pay for the gear? If you felt the seller was acting weird, why did you go ahead with the sale? Just curious. Or maybe you just realized after the fact?

Didn't buy it,he was stupid enough to leave it with me to be "valued" . I have no option but to return it when he comes back. The container is not airworthy , have not looked at the canopies yet.

considering you are talking about the gear that's 25 years old, could it be that it was just abandoned long after the owner quit jumping ?
