baronn 111 #1 December 26, 2015 Some really amazing footage of the wingsuit scene but, the rest of the movie and the story line could have sure used some improvement. Doubtful this will be as much of an asset to the skydive community as the original did.

I don't think we'll see the big rush to the DZ. Better wingsuiting videos all over YouTube.
Alexg3265 0 #4 December 26, 2015 went and saw it with the wife yesterday and we were sadly dissapointed... basic action movie with as many extreme sports packed in as possible... youd think they could have had some better angles on the wingsuiting... if i didnt know any better id just write it off to cg... i dont know what i was expecting, but yeah.... meh...I was that kid jumping out if his tree house with a bed sheet. My dad wouldn't let me use the ladder to try the roof...

johnhking1 100 #6 December 28, 2015 My wife and I (she is also a skydiver) saw it today. Lots of action but weak plot. It is not the kind of movie I would see twice.
riggerrob 643 #7 December 28, 2015 I saw Point Break 2 on Boxing Day and enjoyed it more than the first version. Point Break 1 is one of my all-time favourite movies. PB2 adds motivation and philosophy that was weak in the first version. Glad to hear that modern extreme athletes are trying to achieve more than just an adrenaline rush. Yes, it looked like there was a bit of CGI in some of the wing suiting, but it was good see so many familiar names in the credits: Margaret V. took over my old job at R.I. .... just talked with Todd Shoebotham about re-lining a BASE canopy .... Glad to hear that Jeb Corliss is still alive.
Squeak 17 #8 December 29, 2015 there's a lot of people moaning about "WEAK PLOT" It's POINT BREAK FFS, not Shakespere. The original plot was rubbish. It's an action movie. Stalones plots suck, Arnies plots suck, Stathams plots suck. die hard plots suck. They're not plot or character driven movies, they're ACTION FLICKS. STOP YA WHINING YA BUNCH OF BABIES. hangdiver 1 #9 December 29, 2015 I saw it yesterday...and got shushed for discussing the wingsuit shots with my girlfriend...guess the dialog was hard to hear...ha ha... yeah, action flick...also funny seeing Jeb Corliss in the party scene... Great scenery from around the world and... glad to see my old friends from the Eloy days are getting work... hangdiver "Mans got to know his limitations" Harry Callahan

Lot's of kick ass action scenes with some kind of weak plot to string it together - sounds right up my street. The only way to get rid of a temptation is to yield to it. There's no reason an action movie can't be a good movie. Die Hard had a tight plot, strong characters and great dialogue. Terminator 2 is a perfectly paced chase movie and probably the most coherent plot of any movie that involves time travel. That's what makes them good films that are still watched today. There's something called suspension of disbelief. When you're watching a film you can accept a physics defying car chase, a 5 minute freefall, a pistol that fires 30 shots without being reloaded etc. etc. You can't accept a weak character with inconsistent motives who doesn't have a good reason for doing the things that drive the plot forwards. (BTW, I don't know if you've been here before but this is the internet - stop whinging about people expressing an opinion ya bloody loony)Do you want to have an ideagasm? Rstanley0312 1 #13 December 29, 2015 Agreed and this Point Break was just not that good. I think it lacked the characters. I liked this Bodi character but PS was still a better Bode. The chick was a lot hotter in this one. A cameos from Jeb and from Laird Hamilton were cool. Overall... meh Life is all about ass....either you're kicking it, kissing it, working it off, or trying to get a piece of it. Poor erotic movies have poor acting, poor plot and poor action. As said earlier, you can find great wingsuit flying on youtube without the other crap. megamalfunction 1 #18 December 31, 2015 The original Point Break was incredible because it was directed by Academy Award winning director Kathryn Bigelow. It was a work of art, unlike the garbage that's in theaters right now.

But Hollywood is only into remakes these days so the "Star Wars" series now gets directors like JJ Abrams instead of original geniuses like Lucas. Similarly Cubby Broccolli seems to have retired from directing "James Bond" films.

Similarly Cubby Broccolli seems to have retired from directing "James Bond" films. Ummm, Lucas had great ideas, but was awful at putting them down on screen. He wasn't good at writing a script, he wasn't good at directing - look at all the prequels. TESB, which is considered the best of the SW films, was not directed or produced by Lucas, and the screenplay was not written by him either. I personally don't think that was a coincidence!! All the prequels were written and directed by him, and they aren't exactly great. I'd take a new SW film without Lucas and with Abrams every time. I would, however, like Lucas to give the general story, but then for others to have control over all of it. Anyway, Point Break...Sky Switches - Affordable stills camera tongue switches and conversion adaptors, supporting various brands of camera (Canon, Sony, Nikon, Panasonic). What, you got a problem with fluffy Muppets and lousy video composition and gimmicks, whiney lead characters, and low level over-acting? Agree - Lucas can write a story any time he likes and I'll support. But, PLEASE, for the love of all that is good and true, keep that guy away from a camera! IV was good - but DESPITE Lucas, not because V was the best one - no surprise VI, I, II, III sucked donkey balls (2 for 6 is NOT a good track record) This time DESPITE what's a very good story line. VII - very pleasantly surprised - pretty much any content that sucked in this one was items that appear to be pay homage to Lucas' directing (fortunately very little) ... hackish 8 #23 January 4, 2016 Need to modify my favourite quote from the original... I was packing parachutes ... "while you were still popping zits on your funny face and jacking off to the lingere section of the sears catalog..." Best line ever. I saw the preview and figured I'd wait until it shows up on satellite before watching... I'm sure there will be many clients showing up the DZ wondering if they can try out a squirrel suit... -Michael

wmw999 2,534 #25 March 30, 2016 Finally watched it. I liked the original (it had Keanu Reeves looking hot -- how couldn't I?). This was OK; less story, more action (and to my unsophisticated eyes, the action looked good). There wasn't the embarrassing and completely unlikely kidnapping scene where he sells his soul, and Utah gets the girl. Not a classic, but it was way better than Cutaway (which had a better audience response on RottenTomatoes). Wendy P. There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence.
