thatguythedj 0 #1 March 7, 2016 Not sure if this should go here or in the gear section, but found this craigslist for a Javelin rig for sale too good to be true maybe. Here is the link if anyone knows someone or is missing gear. It was posted in the Milwaukee list, link will be below. Red and Black Javelin S/N 11391, Cypress and not sure on the main. https://milwaukee.craigslist.org/spo/5424697450.html
tred 0 #2 March 7, 2016 seems like a reasonable deal to me, everything is from early nineties including the cypress ( so it would be expired)
councilman24 37 #3 March 8, 2016 If you think that's too good to be true I've got one just like that that I'll sell you for $2500.That's an appropriate price for the equipment. No signs of stolen to me. I'm old for my age. Terry Urban D-8631 FAA DPRE

flyhi 24 #6 March 8, 2016 Does not ring of a skydiver. The terminology is askew. QuoteSkydiving Parachute; Sunpath Javelin Harness/Container P/N 101C19 Model J7N. The headline says Skydiving Parachute, but the first thing they describe is the container. It is obviously more than just a "Skydiving Parachute." I think a skydiver would have said, container, main, and reserve parachutes for sale. QuoteMain is an 18 panel (9cell) unit. Not sure of cubic inch dimension. We haven't described parachutes by panels or measured them by cubic inches in many a fortnight, which would be an analogous way of measuring time. Trying to sell it before an estate sale, found, bought at a garage sale, result of a divorce, some weird acquisition, but not for sale by a skydiver.Shit happens. And it usually happens because of physics.
thatguythedj 0 #7 March 8, 2016 that was more my point I guess. The description didn't sound like someone who would know what is going on. I am still new to the sport myself to know the prices of all the equipment, but it just seemed fishy to me. Thought I would throw it out there, just in case. I guess if it is an okay deal, then I helped make a sale. lol
wolfriverjoe 1,523 #8 March 9, 2016 Pics show S/N of Harness/Container. Text of ad mentions that it was jumped at SkyKnights in East Troy. That sort of stuff isn't something a thief would likely post. And it's an easy call to East Troy to check it out."There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." skyjumpenfool 2 #9 March 10, 2016 Some of us can still remember when rigs didn't cost $8,000.00? My first new rig was $1500 complete. Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."
