just curious if there is a DZ in FL with a place to land a sea/float plane very close by. how long is the zhills swoop pond :) of course there is a wheels option but looking to avoid that.

Being a Pilot and familiar with most of the Florida DZ's I can't think of a solution and I don't think i'd try the swoop ponds

I guess if you define "close" it would help. For me close means walking distance but I guess for some it could be an hour drive.

The hour is very doable at numerous Florida DZ's.


Zhills, Splatka, Lake Wales, Deland, Sebastian, and many others.
Florida is dotted with lakes.
Maybe throw a bicycle in the aircraft!

I'd say Skydive Spaceland Florida in Clewiston. Lake Okeechobee is less than 10 minutes away.

Land at Brown's in Winter Haven, hop a local skydiver flight from there to Zhills. 5 minutes.

Looking at a sectional shows a few around Lake Wales. Mostly private but you could call up and check out the deal.

Check out skydiveswflorida. It's in Punta Gorda. Its a small Cessna dz, but there is a lot of water around there to land in. We almost had a seaplane jumpship 2 years ago
