That it "looks fishy"?

I can think of several reasons for the ad being what it is (clueless seller) that are perfectly legit.

Of course, it might be stolen. There have been a couple of stolen rigs returned to their rightful owner through threads like this.

I highly doubt the cops would be willing to get involved without direct evidence (an owner claiming it or a match in the "stolen" database) that it's a stolen rig.

At this point, Spence's trying to "buy" it is probably the best option (there are 2 threads on this, that may be in the other one).

I understand what you're saying, I was just thinking that a police report of a stolen rig may have been filed. It is quite possible that there was a theft without that being noted on this forum, or someone on this forum knowing about it and reading this thread so they could let us know.
