billvon 3,072 #1 Posted June 2, 2022 Conservative "action groups" are now identifying US schools as targets for action. The Liberty Alliance says they are "fighting the reckless embrace of Socialism" and they condemn conservatives who "are only fighting half-heartedly." One way they do this is by identifying specific schools where the "woke agenda" is "grooming toddlers." These targeted schools "expose the insane actions of the radical Left." Some schools they specifically target: Grain Valley Schools and Early Childhood Center - targeted for teachers wearing "Safe Zone" stickers to identify them as people kids can talk to about feeling ostracized University of Missouri-Kansas City - targeted because students there had a podcast called “Angry White Men and How They Ruined the World.” Fox C-6 School District - targeted due to a poster of the Genderbread Person, a pictorial explaining what gender identity means https://libertyallianceusa.com/woke-heat-map/ One wonders whether they will support or condemn the inevitable shooting at one of these schools when it happens. The Liberty alliance has issued it's new 'Anti-Woke Map". All 12 spots are schools. https://libertyallianceusa.com/woke-heat-map/ If the evolution of humanity is the norm for all sentient life in the universe it makes perfect sense that there appears to be no one else out there. Nah. The fact that the aliens haven't been in contact with us is probably the strongest piece of evidence that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe. No clue who said it first, but I remember the Calvin & Hobbes cartoon.
riggerrob 643 #4 June 2, 2022 Some of those "conservative action groups" need to grow a sense of humor. The worst thing they can do is draw attention to a small group of students who poke fun at XYZ. If those conservatives were wiser, they would simply ignore mischievious students until the students lose interest.

mistercwood 287 #7 June 2, 2022 This thread has reminded me of an email I'd been meaning to post about, re: the utter hypocrisy of those decrying the grooming/brainwashing/influencing that the left are allegedly doing to children. Background: When Parler launched (one of the more recent attempts at a right-wing social media platform) I created an account just to get a temperature read on how close it would get to being an "open" environment like they wanted - spoiler alert, it was a rabid echo-chamber with a badly-copied Twitter interface. I get emails from them about once or twice a week. A few have links to articles or issues around conservative concerns. A lot are straight up grifts (Melania Trump NFT's, anyone?). But the most recent one to catch my eye was straight up indoctrination: The text of the email: Quote Dear Parents & Grandparents, Socialism is a real threat to the America we know and love. I guess a kid can't be too young to have their political views installed for them, so long as they're the *right* views, huh?
NewGuy2005 53 #8 June 3, 2022 That knucklehead's daughter is about to become the next governor of our state. I'm not looking forward to that.

Hi 2005, I would suggest that you then do something about it. Last month, here in Oregon, we held our primary elections. I donated the most money I have ever donated to any candidate, to a woman running for the D nomination in a Congressional district that I do not live in. In Nov, because I do not live in her district, I cannot vote for her; as I also could not do this recent May. Later this summer, I intend to make donations to three US House candidates, all here in Oregon, all female, all D's, from districts that I do not live in. And, I cannot vote for any of the three. I like to think it is putting my money where my mouth is. Jerry Baumchen

In last week's primary, I took a Republican ballot and voted against her and all incumbent Republicans. In Arkansas, you can pick either party in the primary. Whoever runs against her will have very little chance of winning.

He actually does commercials on FOX News channel for a similar illustrated book about "all the good things Trump did for America!" It supposedly covers how the government works, the three branches, etc. -- but all the illustrations have the former president and his people. It's scary. It's scary. I guess it really depends on when the books were written and released. If they were written during the Trump presidency, then it only makes since that his administration would be featured in the books. It is kind of like when I went to a Disney theme park and into their "Hall of Presidents" during the Trump administration. Disney had Trump prominently displayed (like they do all current presidents) telling the audience to "grab 'em by the pussy"! riggerrob 643 #13 June 9, 2022 (edited) If that were published in Canada, it would be Trudeau's Liberals using tax-payer money to pay for printing, TV ads, radio ads, newspaper ads, internet ads, etc. to remind voters of what a great job their elected officials are doing. Since I know that they are trying to deceive or distract me, I immediately change the radio station. I have developed an allergy to "feel good" statements by politicians, lawyers, palliative care nurses, etc. of all shapes, sizes and colors. I already know that they are trying to distract or deflect me, I just have not figured out what is today's bias, so I quickly change the radio station.
