JoeWeber 2,806 #1 Posted June 18, 2022 We are really in a crappy place today. Justice Clarence Thomas is arguably in cahoots with his Qanon and conspiracy theory believing wife who participated in the January 6 insurrection. Both Kavanaugh and Coney-Barrett apparently lied to get their seats and, by any honest rational opinion, Gorsuch sits in a stolen seat. If you read this and think "sucks to be you libtard" or "it's about winning and we won" you are no patriot. You are no true American. You are a traitor to our fragile constitution.

The constitution helps define winners and losers. The anarchy of majority mob rule must be crushed. Hence the senate. Guns must be ready and available. To maintain the status quo.Guns keep natives on reserves. Mexicans, Canadians and other undesirables away from the borders. Guns protect us from those who can't climb the ladder fast enough. Its another form of evolution. The enshrinement of the constitution, the courts, as cast in stone. Will protect White, Christians. Midterms will put the majority in their proper place. As tithe for the privilege in living in a White Christian America. You've got more problems than the court. Now that I've pooped all over your thread. Carry on. wolfriverjoe 1,523 #3 June 18, 2022 I don't disagree that the SC is a HUGE problem. The conflict of interest that is Clarence Thomas is disgusting. However, I don't see it as the biggest problem. It's much more a 'symptom' of a bigger problem. That bigger problem is the attack on our democracy that's been happening for a while. Heather Cox Richardson has been talking about this for some time. It goes all the way back to Reagan. It goes back to FDRs "New Deal" and the idea that the 'little people' shouldn't be subservient to the rich & powerful. Which is an idea that goes back to the real reasons for the Civil War.
brenthutch 444 #4 June 18, 2022 It’s not all gloom and doom guys, you have to look at the good stuff too. The SC is getting ready to make it easier for citizens to protect themselves and it looks like they will brush back an overreaching EPA with a new ruling on CO2. The nation’s founding principles are being shredded by selfish idiots and you think it’s a fair swap for more guns. Do you ever wonder what your kids will think about that in 10-15 years? They have tried to choke the life out of the oil and gas industries for years. Now that they are feeling the political pain of their policies, they try to divert the blame with baseless claims of price gouging and collusion. That’s way more important than a functional democracy.

We're at 8.8%, Germany is at 7.9%, your data, in business we call that the same number. France is at 5.8% and the Netherlands is at 8.8%, again your data. All economies do not react to inflationary pressures in tandem owing to structural differences. For example, you don't see people going to shop or pick up the kids in gigantic, gas guzzling trucks in Europe. Truly, with you it's like arguing the existence of God with a priest.

Someone on FOX suggested that inflation was President Bidens fault and Brent went all atizzy. Inflation is higher in the US because everyone who wants a job is working and there are 11 million plus unfilled jobs. All those workers are spending money like its on fire. The US unemployment rate is 3.6, Spain's is 13.6, Italy 8.4, Germany 5 and the Euro area 6.8. 1 minute ago, yoink said: Personally I think the electoral college is our biggest problem. GeorgiaDon 379 #25 June 19, 2022 I'd throw the primary system into the mix. That ensures the extremists (in both parties) control who gets to run for election. Combined with gerrymandering, the primary system ensures that its mostly the loonies that get to run the show.
