Conservative GOP PACs getting a $1.6 billion Windfall Donation

Recommended Posts

Barre Seid has donated $1.65 billion dollars to a GOP linked political group. To fight abortion, fight taxes, fight climate change together with other GOP trumpish policies. The donations all tax free is the biggest in US history and larger than the biggest 15 donations to democrats in all of 2020.

The money dumped into the Marble Freedom Trust will be used to attack democrats in future elections.

America has permitted and legislated a "golden rule" winner take all political system. Now republicans have the gold..er..cash to rule.

This is worth the read if you need background on Leonard Leo and his organization. For any Americans not familiar with Leonard Leo he's the guy who controls the framework in which you live.

I will see your Soros and raise you 1.6 billion. ;P

I'll concede it's a sad state of affairs when multi-billionaires are the font of political influence in America, even if you weren't making a useful point. Certainly, I don't experience the same glee when individual rights are attenuated, voting is less available to everyone, and our judiciary is populated by an appointed cabal of textualists and originalists who seem only able to see Constitutional meaning through a conservative white male lens. They are, in fact, not interpreting the law at all; they are modifying the laws to meet a predetermined end. You won't agree, as certainly as I wont care, but that is essentially the polar opposite of what the man who grew up under Hungarian communism hopes to achieve.

Who’s rights have been attenuated? Where are voting rights taken away?  OTOH how many people have been murdered, how many cars have been hijacked, how many stores have been robbed, how many folks have been assaulted by criminals released by radical DAs financed by Soros?  I think the real harm caused by far left wing DAs outweighs the imaginary harm from conservative judges.

A woman's right to make decisions about her own body and the horrific consequences that have been playing out because of those restrictions.

Some would say there is more than one body to consider and there are some horrific consequences that are prevented to that body because of those restrictions.

Either you are joking or are vastly more brainwashed than I previously thought.

Some would say that condoms are worse than AIDS. Some would say that a number of cells fewer than those lost when scratching ones nose is a baby. Some would say that it is proper that a young mother to be should be forced to carry a brainless fetus to term at risk to her life and her future ability to have children. Some would also say, and they'd be right, that they have enough people like you with an insatiable appetite for specious arguments to push their christo-conservative agenda down everyones throat no matter what science and common sense make obvious or what is actually written in the constitution.

It’s as if you don’t know the incarceration rate in the US is already far higher than any comparable nation. The level of self delusion required to convince yourself that overly lenient DAs are the cause of your criminal justice issues is incredible.

But, but, Hunter's laptop, her emails, Monica's blue dress, Benghazi, the Doha Agreem. ...  oh, wait, that was Trump .. . .

Sure and some would say Trump is a stable genius. And some say they aren't Republicans. Fact remains that rights have been taken away, specifically the right for a woman to have privacy.

There is at least one US state that forbids pregnant women from divorcing their husband. That alone says enough how the US views women.

Well, of course! That's a future GOP voter we're talking about!

You forgot to throw "christian fundamentalism" into that equation. Dark money and Leonard Leo together with Stephen Miller. Have crafted plans to use redistricting, the courts and the nomination process to radicalize politics. Think Mitch McConnell on steroids.

The democrats just don't have anyone prepared to use dirty tactics to subvert the vote. Don't have a long term strategy to have America's representation, its courts  reflect every voter.

Soros gives money for social causes. For democracy programs. Leo and Miller will use a knife to disembowel democracy for their conservative agenda. Now they have the money, the secrecy to deploy it as they see fit and the SC to feign impartiality.

Unless they are already born.  Then who cares about the consequences?  Not conservatives!
