GravityGirl 0 #2 March 25, 2006 If you are buying a new parachute, you need to talk to your dealer to find out what is best for your particular application. Without more specifics on wing loading, experience level, and what your application for the canopy is, it's kind of hard to tell you which is better. The most common set up is 825 and Slinks. Dacron will have softer openings but packs bulkier. 550 packs the smallest and has the least amount of drag, but wears quicker. Again. More details.... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! darkwing 5 #3 March 25, 2006 If you worry about hard opening, get dacron. Otherwise get 825 spectra. Use slinks too. -- Jeff My Skydiving History
ChrisL 2 #4 March 28, 2006 Just as a curiosity, my last canopy (a sabre2) came with 825 lb spectra. I just noticed that my new Aerodyne Pilot that I ordered comes with 725 lb. What, if any, significant difference will this make in durability, shock absorbancy, drag, etc?__ My mighty steed
