agmhanna 0 #1 August 25, 2014 Hi guys later next month i will be doing my Aff in Ocana, the dropzone seems nice they have great customer service, according to the dropzone reviews they have 4.66/5 which is good, i would appreciate any review or tip from anyone who has been there. One thing that is concerning me is that everyone who goes there for aff seems to have done a good amount of time in wind tunnels which i have never done because there are no tunnels where i come from. I know that before wind tunnels people still learned skydiving but should i be concerned about this? any other advice about the dropzone, the town or anything in particular would be appreciated. Thanks in advance
 Arvoitus 1 #2 August 25, 2014 Wind tunnel is a stress free way to learn the same skills you'd learn in free fall. Also it is somewhat more efficient since you don't have to deal with exit, deployment, canopy control/flight, packing etc. instead you can just keep on focusing on the free fall skills. It is in no way a mandatory thing you have to do, but it can be helpful for you.Your rights end where my feelings begin. Yeah, it's a great tool, but don't sweat it. Besides that, listen to you instructors.Remster
 GLIDEANGLE 1 #4 August 25, 2014 Smile, Breathe, Relax. Wind tunnels are for sure useful and very nice to have, but totally unnecessary for learning to skydive, and your instructors won't be assuming you've ever been near one. By the way, ignore the dropzone.com reviews rating score - by all means read the reviews and see how people feel about a place, but the number you end up with at the end is not worth the paper it's printed on Have an amazing time! -- "I'll tell you how all skydivers are judged, . They are judged by the laws of physics." - kkeenan "You jump out, pull the string and either live or die. What's there to be good at?
