JerryBaumchen 1,362 #1 Posted November 30, 2022 Hi folks, Time for the 'new' guard to take their places: In historic vote, Democrats pick Jeffries to replace Pelosi as party leader | The Hill 'Hakeem' eh? That should get some MAGA heads exploding. Jerry Baumchen
wolfriverjoe 1,523 #2 December 1, 2022 Well, I seem to recall certain individuals insisted on calling Obama by his middle name, Hussein. Hatred & bigotry aren't among their more endearing features, but they're rather prominent ones.
Phil1111 1,149 #3 December 1, 2022 The usual caste of characters will soon be labeling him as corrupt, an enemy of the state, etc. Those characters? FOX, Hannity, trump SK, etc. Then the racist tropes. His love of watermelon, fried chicken, etc.

JerryBaumchen 1,362 #8 December 5, 2022 Hi folks, Now, this is interesting: Trump came in third place with 14.6 percent, nearly 2 points below [ Liz ] Cheney and nearly 10 points behind [ DeSantis] Would it not be the final irony if Liz Cheney were to get the GOP nod for POTUS? Trump trails DeSantis and Cheney in Utah poll of possible 2024 GOP contenders | The Hill Jerry Baumchen

Hi Jerry, It would be the 'final irony', but it won't happen. #1 - I can't see the R party allowing her to get the nomination. She didn't follow the 'party line' when Trump was in power. #2 - The 'Trumpettes' still have a LOT of influence. Especially in the primaries, where many 'middle of the road' voters don't bother to participate and ALL the wingnuts & weirdos do.

Probably the only area of the US where you know republican moderates are the majority. Just head north and MAGA Wyoming is ready to hang moderate republicans.

IMO each journey begins with the first step. Jerry Baumchen

The new Speaker of the House will be able to take a page out of Pelosi’s playbook and veto any committee assignments Jeffries would choose.
