A highlight of the results follows: The board made major revisions to its judging program, which will be reflected in a revised Chapter 8 of the Skydiver's Competition Manual. Beginning January 1, 2015, the A-license requirements will include a USPA-developed written exam in addition to the current oral exam. The board selected Roger Ponce de Leon to receive the USPA Gold Medal for Meritorious Service. The board selected the following recipients for the new USPA Regional Achievement Award, which recognizes outstanding members of USPA regions who, by their efforts over a period of time or one outstanding act, have made significant contributions to that region's skydiving community: Mike Schultz, Eastern Region Gary Pond (posthumously), Northeast Region Jim Horak Jr. (posthumously), Southern Region Eike Hohenadl (posthumously), Western Region The board approved the by-laws for the Skydiving Safety Foundation, which was established at the winter board meeting earlier this year. The foundation will fund board-approved safety initiatives through donor contributions. stayhigh 2 #2 July 22, 2014 I thought this has to do with Rich Winstock's mis-piloting causing two people to stay at the hospital. Did USPA paid for the spectator's hospital bill as well?? Using the third party insurance?? Hopefully that spectator wasn't a USPA member or USPA insurance will refuse to cover.Bernie Sanders for President 2016
jimjumper 25 #4 July 24, 2014 Pretty much SOP for this kind if thing. Deny, ignore, misdirect, distract, do nothing and then claim the problem was corrected and will never happen again. It's USPA's usual way of handling embarrassing events. Stick around, you'll get used to it and next time you'll be able to follow along in the play book and not even be mildly surprised!
