DBCOOPER 5 #27 April 29, 2014 You can only use auto gas if there is no ethanol in it. Haven't seen much of that around for a while.Replying to: Re: Stall On Jump Run Emergency Procedure? by billvon If the plane is unrecoverable then exiting is a very very good idea. Be there's a few places around here that sell it. At my current DZ, they know a local station that sells it and use a small tank trailer. At my old DZ, we had a fuel dealer come out and fill the tank. They didn't seem to have any problem getting it. DrDom 0 #29 April 30, 2014 TEL (lead) is rapidly absorbed through skin so realize you should not touch 100LL directly. Breathing it... I would have to agree the exposure is STILL minimal. JetA has no lead. It is correct it is basically kerosene. If anyone is REALLY concerned, go to your doc and request a lead level. You can see your exposure. I use 100LL in my paramotor and i'll check my lead level at end of season.... will be interesting. You are not the contents of your wallet.

wolfriverjoe 1,523 #31 April 30, 2014 riggerrobThe problem with ethanol is that it rots some rubber hoses, gaskets, etc. in older fuel systems/older airplanes. True. My post above is referring to "Pure Gas", or "ethanol free" gas. It may not have been as clear as it should have. The other problem with gas mixed with ethanol is that it violates the STC and is illegal to use (It's not allowed under the STC for the reasons you note)."There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit."
