Gary73 10 #1 Posted April 26, 2023 Does anyone have any experience using the Tile Pro trackers to find cutaways? Thanks!
mtgale00 1 #2 May 14, 2023 There are much better options but of course there is a higher cost. The range on tile trackers is less than 50 feet. Legit trackers use Cellular/GPS and require a monthly subscription in addition to the $100'ish cost of the tracker.
sfzombie13 324 #3 May 14, 2023 just wondering, can you install the tracker and just not pay the subscription until you need to use it? like have it in the rig for as long as you need but only pay the monthly fee when you cutaway and need to use it. that would make it worth it. Perhaps an apple watch fits this description. Mine isn't set up with my carrier to enable it to act as a phone away from home, but I can add that to my plan/account, perhaps without having my watch in hand? An old apple watch version 3 cell capable or later is good enough to be used with the "find my" app. Edited May 20, 2023 by sundevil777
sfzombie13 324 #5 May 21, 2023 can you put a sim card in a watch? it would have to have a sim card to have signal to be tracked. i have no idea what the internals look like, it would be cool if it were possible as a watch is smaller.
