Skydiving in Netherlands~~~~

Recommended Posts

Hello everybody! Does anyone knows about the cost and reputation of any sky diving schools in netherlands? I am an exchange student going to study in rotterdam for six months. I am more concerned about the safety records of the school than the cost.

Is there any recommended skydiving schools near netherlands?

Any kind replies will be greatly appreciated. Thanks :)

Imo there arent good or bad schools in the netherlands, They are all fine.

I jump always on Texel (the small island on the north) because i love the view and vibes. There is 1 other very big dropzone: paracentrum teuge.
Nothing wrong with them either.

If youre going to live in Rotterdam, consider the dropzone in Rotterdam... Ive never been there, but some friends say it's a cool place.

So:

And parachute.nl for more information, since there are a few more dropzones in the netherlands.

Agreed, no 'bad rep' dropzones here in The Netherlands.

Cost-wise, are you a skydiver already or are you going to do the first jump course? Some DZs here only do AFF, some do both staticline and AFF, might be one or 2 that only do SL.
Starting with SL is of course much cheaper. Do consider that not all DZs can accomodate SL-to-freefall jumps, Texel comes to mind, so in that case you are better off either doing AFF right up front or jump somewhere else (f.i. Teuge SL-to-freefall or AFF, whichever you prefer).

All KNVvL dropzones located in the Netherlands here:

thanks for ur reply :) , I dont have any skydiving experience and I just want to try skydiving a few times in Netherlands. Does rotterdam skydiving sch provides the instructor accompanied jump? I mean the case where the instructor will be behind me during the jump. Thanks :)

Thanks for ur reply :) , I am a complete greenhorn in skydiving with no experience at all ! I am quite curious about the saying that it is better to find army related skydiving school because they emphasized more on safety. Would you advise me on this? Thank you!

You are from the UK? In the UK there are skydiving schools related to the army. This is not the case in the Netherlands.

That kind of jump is called a "Tandem." Most places offer that. There are places that offer only that.

And "military related" training isn't necessarily any safer or less safe than civilian style. They just yell a lot more.

I have jumped at Texel Island DZ and also at Teuge DZ. Both are well organized DZ. Dutch people are very friendly and easy going.

Teuge DZ is located on a municipal airport where airplanes, gliders, helicopters and skydivers share the sky seemingly in harmony. What is amazing is to see cows eating grass nearby since in Holland, nothing is lost due to the small superficies of the country.

Texel Island DZ is another type. Texel Island is a small paradise. Sheeps, bicycles, sea, beaches, little villages and small fishing ports. The DZ has a large open area, nice and modern facilities and as soon as you are airborne, you can see the sea on both sides of the island. A must to try.
Learn from others mistakes, you will never live long enough to make them all.

Yes, Skydive Rotterdam offers tandem jumps. See this link for more info (in English):

They also offer AFF and Static Line courses if you want to learn to jump by yourself.

First world country..... EVERYTHING is fine there, heck sometimes it's boring.

Good choice though on the Country.

If you want to do a tandem jump, look no further than Rotterdam - it simply is closest and you might see your house from up there.

If you decide you'd like to try it on your own, it might be worth to shop around some to find the best value for money without compromising on safety.
For instance, my dropzone offers a discount to military jumpers who want to earn their Wings. :)
