DexterK 0 #1 Posted September 5, 2023 I am ready to learn and get my "A" license to start. From what I've read and watched so far I am thinking AFF is the best course to follow. Can anyone give recommendations for the better skydiving schools. In either Oregon or California? Just going into the off season up in the PNW so thinking SoCal might be best. I am currently looking at Perris Valley,CA and Elsinore, CA. I did a tandem a number of years ago so I want to just get started with AFF. Love to hear your thoughts. Thanks in advance Edit
kleggo 145 #2 September 5, 2023 Both Elsinore and Perris are busy DZ's with talented staff. They will be able to enable as much jumping as you can tolerate. Hard to go wrong there. Perris has more and better accommodations than E'nore (restaurant, bunk house, pool) You may also want to consider Davis CA, (though I have little experience with them under non Ray F. ownership) which is a bit closer to OR.
riggerrob 643 #3 September 5, 2023 I would vote for Perris Valley because they have a vertical wind tunnel. Even a few minutes in a wind tunnel will vastly improve your skills when you get to freefall.
DexterK 0 #4 September 5, 2023 Yeah I've pretty much decided Perris Valley would be the best choice for me. Certainly the wind tunnel is a huge plus. Thanks for the replys.
