Phil1111 1,149 #1 Posted December 29, 2023 The Republican governor of Ohio has vetoed a bill on Friday that would have banned transgender minors from receiving puberty blockers, hormone therapy and surgeries. Ohio is ruled by the republican tribe. "Those in favor of the bill argued that parents are pressured by doctors to sign off on transition care treatments for their children. The bill’s sponsor, Representative Gary Click, said parents are “being manipulated by the physicians.’’ This should be a thread with other republicans having the aforementioned brains and backbones. But I can't think of any left who have not been driven out of the party by MAGA apostles of trump. So naturally democrats will be mentioned the most. Tribalism, attack ads, lobbyists., etc. might put that way off into the future. The idea that integrity, honesty, a national interest vs local pandering. billvon 2,991 #5 January 1, 2024 Kudos to John Raney, who put an end to school vouchers in Texas by introducing the Raney Amendment to a Texas education bill that basically prohibited vouchers. At issue was a compromise. Abbott wanted vouchers for all Texans, which would have effectively ended public education in Texas. Raney was willing to support a voucher program for poor and disabled Texan kids, as well as Texan kids that were in very poor school districts. But Abbott was unwilling to budge, and thus one of his #1 priorities goes down in flames. Public education in Texas survives for now.

In the distant future, archaeologists will dig up the fossilized balls and backbones of Trump era Republicans where Mar-a-LIE-go now stands.
