TheCapt 7 #1 Posted January 21, 2024 I haven't jumped for a while but am thinking of jumping again. I am generally in great shape, but because I had a new aortic valve installed, I am worried about hard openings, so I write seeking opinions on what canopies have a reputation for long snivels. wmw999 2,527 #2 January 21, 2024 The Spectre, particularly larger ones (I.e. lower wing loading for you) is widely selected for its docile openings. But there are no guarantees; any canopy can spank you. Wendy P.
TheCapt 7 #3 January 23, 2024 Thanks, Wendy. The Spectre was my first canopy, and now that you mention it, I don't remember any hard openings.
skydiverek 63 #4 January 24, 2024 (edited) Please jump: Spectre. With slider one size larger (ask PD). Dacron lines (they stretch, which makes a HUGE difference in case of hard opening). Edited January 24, 2024 by skydiverek
TheCapt 7 #5 January 27, 2024 That sounds like good advice. Nylon lines would stretch even more, but I don't think there is such a thing.
