wmw999 2,444 #1 Posted May 24, 2024 wrong place I know, but Im in a pretty big pickle, and this is where there are the mosts people posting. Im out of the country, and my iphone is kaput. Obviously my password saver was on - you guessed it - the iphone. so he changed the password at home. What I am wondering is will that be enough to go to a store, get a new phone, and have it reloaded overseas? In the past, apple id password resets have been problematic. I am thoroughly stressed right now and wont try to configure the new phone I have sitting in its box on the table; I'd probably fuck it up. thanks Wendy P. Good luck with your technology, and yes, Apple ID's are some of the biggest PITA passwords to reset/recover, unless you have an iPhone. Enjoy your trip. Jerry Baumchen I grudgingly use iPads for navigation. Despite their peculiarities, they host the best Electronic Flight Bag software so I went with the platform. As far as being screwed by security goes, it's a feature, not a bug.

Like everything else in this world, Apple has pluses and minuses. So does Microsoft/PC. An old (like late 90s old) joke is that half the world thinks that Steve Jobs is the Messiah, and Bill Gates is the Anti-Christ. The other half thinks the exact opposite. I prefer PC myself, but a friend is a die-hard Apple user. For me, the pluses of the PC outweigh the minuses, and the minuses of Apple outweigh the pluses. For my friend, the opposite is true.
wmw999 2,444 #10 May 26, 2024 We're PC users, but also iphone users. My husband was issued one at work when they first came out, and didn't want to learn a new interface when he retired. I got the same thing so that we can use each others' iphones when navigating in the RV or doing anything else like that when one is driving. Wendy P. Stayed with them way too long. Finally switched to Android with Verizon. Wifey and kids have Apple and they all have problems with them. A few months back when Apple announced their latest and greatest they talked about the upgrade to the camera system (multiple lenses). Samsung had been using that tech for about 5 years. The article I read talked about Android having multiple manufacturers that compete on tech advancement and that's why it was a more advanced product. At family events the kids will say, "use Dad's phone for the pics, it has a better camera." Five year-old Galaxy S10.

Certainly the better camera is a great thing but I mostly use it for a phone and texts and stuff, not selfies. I have an iPhone so young people will identify with me and think I’m cool. I watch cooler younger people struggle to do simple things on their very superior and complex Android devices and just shrug my shoulders thinking how easy I have it compared to them. It just works. I’ve been an iPhone user for about 6-7 years now. iPhones are great if you just want simplicity and a consistent user interface. Androids tend to be more flexible and customisable. You pay a premium for Apple, largely due to packaging and brand rather than quality. Wireless performance is not as good as some other brands (I travel to remote areas of Australia and generally iPhones lose coverage before Samsung for example). Until recently they were also terrible for breaking when dropped - I have no idea how they passed the EU certification process that includes drop tests, but my iPhone 14 mini survived a few years without an issue. I’ve had an 15 pro for a week and may take it back to the shop as the sound is terrible- thought it was distortion on a specific video clip, but it turns out that most videos are distorted at about 20% volume and upwards.
