He made his 'preponderance of evidence that God exists' comment and I called him out on it. Asked him to show that evidence. First, he tried to change the subject, asking if I was concerned about the 'state of my soul'. But no evidence. Then he just ignored the question. Then he made the claim that 'I wouldn't accept the evidence he had', without providing anything for me to accept or reject. So to say he was 'open to 2 way discussion' is not true, at least in the case of evidence that god exists. The funniest part about this is that even when I DID believe in God, I fully accepted the concept that there's ZERO evidence for his existence. That's what 'faith' means. Belief without evidence. I don't think Jay ever understood that part of my questioning him on his 'evidence' (that was never provided). Because he was never willing or able to admit that he might have been wrong (on ANYTHING, not just my questions).

wolfriverjoe 1,523 #731 October 14, 2024 Back in October 2020, Trumpty Dumpty held a rally in Tulsa Oklahoma. It was cold and rainy. Because of the way the venue was arranged, attendees had to be bussed from parking lots to the rally site. After the rally, the busses that were supposed to take people back to the parking lots never showed. It was later claimed that the reason the busses didn't come back was because the Trump campaign didn't want to pay the bill. So thousands of people were stranded in bad weather, in below freezing temps. Some ended up in the hospital. So guess what happened yesterday at the rally in Coachella California. Go ahead, guess. Rally attendees who were bussed several miles from Indio were stranded when the busses to take them back... Never showed up. https://www.rawstory.com/trump-fans-stranded-desert-rally/

Stranded Trump supporters on Twitter turn on their thinkers and out comes: Kamala Harris orchestrated this - "tried to create a situation that would spark a riot. . . . I'm happy to say no one took the bait." See how they turned that around? They frustrated those evil Harris plans through their levelheaded common sense. The liberal CHP orchestrated this - "Bus driver notified by CHP to stop picking up attendees. THIS MUST BE INVESTIGATED!!!!!!!" Someone "completely depleted" the "fuel reserves" leaving buses without fuel, and "THIS HAS TO BE LOOKED INTO!!!!" And of course "It’s definitely THE DEEP STATE! They’re tryna get y’all to riot… WITH EACH OTHER!" Like old Theo Geisel once said: Think left and think right Think low and think high O the thinks you can think If only you try! Dropzone.com also needs this! I love how most Americans seem to have no clue what the 1st amendment is or how it works. Trump and his lawyers are amongst them. IN their latest case before Judge Chutkan they have filed a response to basically have everything thrown out. Their argument is that Trump has immunity and that other parts are protected by the 1st Amendment. The main determination for the immunity defense is if Trump was acting as President Trump or as Candidate Trump. He would be immune if he was acting as President Trump. So his lawyers are of course claiming he was acting as President Trump AND he was protected by the 1st Amendment. Funny thing is, if you give it even maybe 30 seconds of thought, you should be figuring out these two are mutually exclusive. The 1st Amendment protects citizens from the government. It does not state that it protects the President from the government. So if he claims, as he has, that he is protected by the 1st amendment, he is admitting he was acting as candidate Trump. As candidate Trump he is not immune....... Not the smartest legal work I have ever read. I have a feeling your understanding of the 1st Amendment is even worse. nigel99 471 #742 October 14, 2024 Before Kamala started to run, we had a discussion about why she might not be the best alternative to Biden, and the strongest point was misogyny and racism. Polling shows that she lags Trump with men by quite a large margin. It’s a sad indictment of American men/society that they prefer a rapist and criminal over a woman. Forget all the right wing fuss about what is a woman, they really need to talk about what makes a man - because Trump is no alpha male role model, he’s a pathetic excuse for masculinity. When a significant portion of a society thinks a diaper wearing bully is better than a strong woman of conviction, they have a problem. I guess the old farts of DZ are woke liberals as for most posters are rational and sane - thankfully and hopefully enough of you to stop the madness.

The problem with people that think like you (and Musk) is that the freedom of speech generally means the freedom to speak as you would, as you do, and any other opinions are to be quashed. How very Christian of you..... And now X/Twitter is a cesspool of radical right wing propaganda. Congrats, you won. Let me guess, you cruise Truth Social as well.... In all fairness it’s a global/western problem and it’s easy to pick on America. Suicide is the leading cause of death in men under 45 (in Australia). Toxic masculinity is on the rise and people like Andrew Tate are hailed as hero’s. Men are in crisis and scared. I don’t know if life is genuinely more difficult than it was 30 years ago or not. It used to be uncommon to live at home into your 30’s and 40’s, now it’s almost the norm. I guess you start off blaming immigrants and when you have killed them off/kicked them out the next in line to blame is women. Trump has proven to be good at connecting at an emotional level with younger men. It’s terrifying to see just how big a problem exists. I think we have a similar problem brewing here, the number one terror threat that we are dealing with is radicalised 14 to 25 year old males.

Re: Trump has proven to be good at connecting at an emotional level with younger men. Not to be putting words in your mouth; but, my thinking is that these are men without a formal education. When I graduated high school in 1958, a 18-yr old could find lots of jobs on offer. They were of the manual labor type; but, they were there. IMO this is not the case anymore; at least, not here in the US. I think these are the 'men' that are attracted to Trump. For some mistaken reason, they seem to think that he is going to bring back those jobs that are now gone for good. IMO what they fail to grasp is that, of all major politicians, Trump is the one who cares the least about them. Just some thoughts, Jerry Baumchen PS) Re: Suicide is the leading cause of death in men under 45 (in Australia). Could you provide some insight on this? My best friend in life immigrated to Australia in 1971; he had a degree in Marine Biology. He could not find much work in his field & ended being an airplane mechanic. In 2004, at age 61, he took his own life.

In 2004, at age 61, he took his own life. As well as differences by sex, the leading causes of death vary by age (Figure 2). Among infants, most deaths in 2022 were due to perinatal and congenital conditions. Land transport accidents were the most common cause of death among children aged 1–14. Suicide was the leading cause of death among people aged 15–44. Chronic diseases caused most deaths among people aged 45 and over. Coronary heart disease was the leading cause of death for males aged 45 and over. Cancers (such as breast and lung) were the leading causes of death for females aged 45–74, and for those aged 75 and over it was dementia including Alzheimer’s. https://www.aihw.gov.au/reports/life-expectancy-deaths/deaths-in-australia/contents/summary There’s still a stigma around mental health issues and asking for help. Also lots of isolation and lack of connection.
