Slowest start to Atlantic hurricane season…

If it continues Ron DeSantis will be the insurer for every single home in Florida. Wait a minute,

"Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has said that state-backed Citizens Property Insurance is “not solvent” and could be in trouble if a storm hits the state.

DeSantis’s comments come as the federal government conducts an investigation into whether the insurer has enough money on hand for a natural disaster.

Citizens Property Insurance, Florida’s ‘insurer of last resort’, was formed in 2002 to provide windstorm and property coverage to state residents who could not obtain insurance elsewhere." From Feb 29, 2024 story Insurance Business report.

And Citizens is on a 'depopulation' campaign, supported by the republicans in power in Florida. If you can find another policy with less than a 20% increase in the price, Citizens can and will kick you out.

I just got the letter from Citizens stating that they found me another carrier, and guess what?  The increase is 19.2%.... but hey, double digit increases in normal in Florida, every year.

But thank god the 'cost benefit' of fake news climate change economics is working

Be thankful that Florida doesn't get allot of hail. Hail is a rising concern in the insurance industry.

"Inflation is driving up the cost of materials and labor to repair roofs and cars. Adding to insurers’ costs is increased development in areas affected by severe storms." $60 billion annually.

Hail has caused higher damage costs in the U.S. this year than hurricanes and floods put together. Research suggests climate change will make hailstones larger.

With $2.8-billion in payouts, Calgary’s August hailstorm becomes Canada’s second most expensive weather event

Did Florida experience a 19.2% increase in storm damage last year? Yup, didn’t think so.

Research suggests something might happen in the future is not the same as something happening today, although a lot of folks on this forum are unable to tell the difference.

(FWIW solar panels don’t do so well in a hailstorm)

Like how they caused the price of chocolate from Africa to shoot up as well?

Or the price of olive oil from Italy to almost double?

Or the price of coffee from Vietnam?

Are those democrats in the room right now with you?

I said “insurance” not olive oil or coffee, I thought for sure that even you would know the difference, but apparently I overestimated your capacity for rational thought.

I said "Like how.." but I overestimated your capacity for reading comprehension.

You do get how poorly this reflects on you, not him, right?

so you do not have anything to actually show the increase in insurance costs due to inflation caused by Democrats?  That was your claim.

Yeah that is kinda what I thought.

Under Trump, my homeowners insurance was about $800/year at the start of his term, and about $1600 at the end of it

Explain.  or do the usual and digress into something else unrelated.

Calgary and many parts of Alberta, suffered catastrophic hail storms this year, never seen before.  tens maybe hundreds of millions of dollars in damage.... explain using your economic model since obviously the price increases in insurance in Canada will be the fault of Joe Biden.

my nipples are erect in anticipation

They do quite well; most panels do better than most roofs, for example.

If you ever have hail so bad it can destroy your solar panels, you will be VERY happy to have them, since they might just save your roof.  Which will be a good thing, because you'll be spending thousands to get your cars and house windows fixed.

You have no idea just how cunning those dems are.

Still waiting for anything to back up this ridiculous statement.  I am going to ride you until you retract it and admit you are incorrect

Which is something he will never, ever do.  He will deny, delay and distract.  He's done it before.  Indeed, he will consider it a victory if it bothers you.

Given that, I'd suggest there are better ways to spend your time.

That's going to be a long dusty trail for you.

He needs to get several dozen mares and a couple breeding stallions. So he can ride the colts when they get old enough replacing the older horses when they die on the trail.

Ride away! The two massive spending bills passed against bipartisan objections, took an already inflationary environment and put it on steroids. How many major hurricanes have reeked destruction this year that justifies the huge increase in insurance premiums? Oh that would ZERO! And yet the premiums continue to rise.

that is not actually a reason.  You quote is and was "The cost of insurance is up everywhere because of the inflation caused by the Democrats. Actual storm damage has not increased, the cost of storm damage has."

What has the Biden administration doe to 'cause' homeowner insurance rates to rise in Florida?

So what?

Inflation is back to levels it should be. The economy is looking to have a very soft landing, which is quite a feat. People were mostly able to keep their homes. Wages are up. Rates are coming down. Prices at the pump are down. Prices for eggs are own, other than one company screwing around with "flock maintenance" to artificially keep prices higher longer (which I am sure you can find a way to blame Biden for). All in all, pretty well handled.

On the other hand, global warming will continue to be an issue.

still riding - all you did was restate a different claim related to your first claim.  Making another claim is not actually evidence of the original claim.

Devalued the dollar. Cost are up everywhere, my homeowners insurance was around $900 during the Trump administration, now it is more than $1200.

BTW you still haven’t answered my question, how many large hurricanes have devastated FL this year?
