Ron DeSantis has said that state-backed Citizens Property Insurance is “not solvent” and could be in trouble if a storm hits the state. DeSantis’s comments come as the federal government conducts an investigation into whether the insurer has enough money on hand for a natural disaster. Citizens Property Insurance, Florida’s ‘insurer of last resort’, was formed in 2002 to provide windstorm and property coverage to state residents who could not obtain insurance elsewhere." From Feb 29, 2024 story Insurance Business report. And Citizens is on a 'depopulation' campaign, supported by the republicans in power in Florida. If you can find another policy with less than a 20% increase in the price, Citizens can and will kick you out. I just got the letter from Citizens stating that they found me another carrier, and guess what? The increase is 19.2%.... but hey, double digit increases in normal in Florida, every year. But thank god the 'cost benefit' of fake news climate change economics is working

"Inflation is driving up the cost of materials and labor to repair roofs and cars. Adding to insurers’ costs is increased development in areas affected by severe storms." $60 billion annually. Hail has caused higher damage costs in the U.S. this year than hurricanes and floods put together. Research suggests climate change will make hailstones larger. With $2.8-billion in payouts, Calgary’s August hailstorm becomes Canada’s second most expensive weather event

Yup, didn’t think so. so you do not have anything to actually show the increase in insurance costs due to inflation caused by Democrats? That was your claim. Yeah that is kinda what I thought. Under Trump, my homeowners insurance was about $800/year at the start of his term, and about $1600 at the end of it Explain. or do the usual and digress into something else unrelated. If you ever have hail so bad it can destroy your solar panels, you will be VERY happy to have them, since they might just save your roof. Which will be a good thing, because you'll be spending thousands to get your cars and house windows fixed.

The two massive spending bills passed against bipartisan objections, took an already inflationary environment and put it on steroids. How many major hurricanes have reeked destruction this year that justifies the huge increase in insurance premiums? Oh that would ZERO! And yet the premiums continue to rise. Inflation is back to levels it should be. The economy is looking to have a very soft landing, which is quite a feat. People were mostly able to keep their homes. Wages are up. Rates are coming down. Prices at the pump are down. Prices for eggs are own, other than one company screwing around with "flock maintenance" to artificially keep prices higher longer (which I am sure you can find a way to blame Biden for). All in all, pretty well handled. On the other hand, global warming will continue to be an issue.

Cost are up everywhere, my homeowners insurance was around $900 during the Trump administration, now it is more than $1200.
